2. Yangmingshan National Park: Early / mid-February to early March

Yangmingshan is located near the capital city of Taipei and is one of the first places where you can experience cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms in Yangmingshan sometimes bloom early in late January! However, the ideal time to admire cherry blossoms is the first two weeks of February.
The scenery of this national park, already impressive, now features charming cherry blossom-lined trails. Take the time to hike or bike here for unforgettable experiences.

3. Wuling Farm: Early March

Wuling Farm is located in Taichung City, near the central area of Taiwan, at an altitude of nearly 2,000 meters with cool weather, making it convenient year-round.
Wuling Farm is where you can immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Taiwan, especially in September when most flowers compete to bloom, but it's even more spectacular in spring when cherry blossoms bud into beautiful blooms.
If you're an adventurous explorer, you'll be thrilled to know about Snow Mountain, the second highest peak in Taiwan, also located near Wuling Farm.
But like Alishan, Wuling Farm has limits on the number of tourists during cherry blossom season to ensure visitors have the best experiences. Getting here may sometimes pose a challenge, but public transportation is always available from Taipei, Yilan, and Fengyuan. You can also take a tourist bus from Taipei Main Station, just remember to book in advance.
Tamsui / Danshui: Late February to mid-March

Tamsui District is located in New Taipei City, surrounding Taipei City, often easily confused with Taipei. It sounds complicated, but essentially, it's north of Taiwan, which is why cherry blossoms here align more with those in Yangmingshan than in Alishan.
Two fantastic spots to admire cherry blossoms in Tamsui District are Wuji Tianyuan Temple and Wu Ancestral Shrine. At Tianyuan Temple, cherry blossoms come in three different varieties, whereas at Wu Ancestral Shrine, besides the cherry blossom grove, you can also enjoy sweeping views of Tamsui and Shilin with stunning scenery.

Wulai Old Street: Early March

Wulai District, located in New Taipei City, boasts numerous hot springs, indigenous museums, unique local cuisines, and of course, it's also a place to admire cherry blossoms.

Sun Moon Lake in Nantou County is one of Taiwan's most famous tourist destinations. Sun Moon Lake is always beautiful year-round, but it truly shines during cherry blossom season, especially at the Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village.
You can reach this village by cable car from Sun Moon Lake, and the garden area in the village is an ideal spot for you to admire the cherry blossoms in full bloom! You can also chat with the locals here to explore the history of Taiwan's indigenous peoples.

Renshan Botanical Garden: Late February to early or mid-March
If you want to eat, head to the kitchen. If you want to admire flowers, head to the flower garden. Renshan Botanical Garden is located in Yilan, where it's a popular destination for nature lovers.
There are some beautiful hiking trails along the small gardens in Renshan Botanical Garden. And the scenery becomes even more impressive in spring when cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Taipei City: From mid-February onwards

Clearly, if you want to admire nature, go out into nature. But it's undeniable that Taipei City is one of the hottest destinations in Taiwan. So, for those who want to admire cherry blossoms but don't want to venture far from the capital city of Taipei, this will be the appropriate choice.
Although cherry blossom season here isn't abundant, you can still admire this flower in Taipei City when visiting Bihu Park in Neihu District; Songzhih Park, and the Memorial Hall of Tung Blossoms.
Klook recommends visiting the Tung Blossom Memorial Hall regardless of the season, but especially in spring, when cherry blossoms (of about 11 species) bloom abundantly, combined with the lively atmosphere in this area will surely give you a great experience. However, because cherry blossoms in Taipei City are easily affected by weather changes, you only have a short period to admire them.

Cherry blossoms are flowers that are very susceptible to weather conditions. While most official forecasts suggest that these flowers will fully bloom around March or April, sometimes that's not the case. In Taiwan, at the end of March last year, most cherry blossoms had withered. Therefore, a general rule to remember is that most cherry blossoms will wither about two months after Lunar New Year. So, it's best to plan your schedule quickly if you want to admire the most beautiful blooms of cherry blossoms this year!
