II. Exemplary essay Analyzing the image of King Quang Trung in Hoang Le's comprehensive record (Standard)

King Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue is the hero in cloth who defeated over 250,000 Qing invaders, expelling them from our homeland. The image of the hero of Tay Son has been portrayed thoroughly and vividly in the work 'Hoang Le's comprehensive record' by the author group Ngo Gia Van Phi.

Nguyen Hue is the clothed hero with extraordinary talents and exceptional courage. The authors of 'Hoang Le's comprehensive record' borrow the words of a courtier in Truong Yen palace to describe Quang Trung as follows: 'Unaware that Nguyen Hue is a seasoned hero, brave and skilled in command. Watching him move from north to south, no one can fathom. He captures Huu Chinh like catching a child, kills Van Nham like slaughtering a pig, and no one dares to look him in the face...

Firstly, reading the 14th chapter of the work reveals Nguyen Hue as a decisive and powerful individual. Upon learning that the Qing army had entered Thang Long and 'Emperor Le accepted the enthronement,' despite the vast territory and strategic importance being occupied, Nguyen Hue showed no fear or hesitation. He decisively 'decided to lead the army immediately.' This demonstrates the incredibly resolute and powerful nature of the hero in cloth. However, after receiving advice to 'stay calm with the rebellious and win the hearts of the people,' he decided to ascend the throne. In just one month, Nguyen Hue accomplished significant tasks from 'declaring to heaven and earth,' 'ascending the throne,' 'changing the reign title,' to 'issuing the order to march,' recruiting soldiers, and inspecting the troops in Nghe An...

Moreover, he is an individual with insightful intelligence. This is evident when he analyzed the situation of our forces and the enemy, regarding the power balance and strategies against the invaders. When recruiting in Nghe An and realizing the army was not yet stable, he delivered a stirring speech, 'riding on an elephant' to the 'frontline' to 'comfort the soldiers.' His speech was rich in poetic, heroic, and powerful tones, reminiscent of Tran Quoc Tuan's poems. He affirmed national sovereignty, outlined the enemy's conspiracy and crimes to evoke deep hatred for the enemy in the soldiers' hearts. Simultaneously, he highlighted the heroic figures who resisted the enemy, protecting the nation's independence such as 'Trung Sisters, Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Dai Han,'... encouraging the pride of the generals. It impacted the soldiers, stimulating patriotism, righteousness, and strength of our nation. In the conclusion of the speech, Quang Trung urged soldiers to rise up against the enemy to save the country, and sternly outlined the consequences for those who opposed. Quang Trung's sagacity and perceptiveness were also demonstrated in his use of people. His two generals, So and Lan, defended Thang Long but failed, 'carrying swords on their backs' to meet him and 'plead guilty.' Understanding their strengths and weaknesses, Quang Trung praised and criticized appropriately, then delegated tasks to his two generals. It was a very clever way to win people's hearts by the hero Quang Trung.

Furthermore, Quang Trung is a king with a far-reaching vision. When the enemy had just entered our country, had not yet moved the army, and had not yet seized any inch of our land, Quang Trung confidently stated: 'This time I go out, personally lead the army, the strategic plan is ready. Within thirty days, we can chase away the Qing people.' He also foresaw that the people from the North, when defeated, would 'feel ashamed and plot revenge,' so a proper diplomatic strategy was needed to ensure the people's peace, avoid war and unrest. A king who plans for the long-term development of the country before even going to battle, creating prosperity for the people, is truly a king with a far-reaching vision. As expected, Quang Trung made a glorious history for our nation that few can compare with.

Finally, through the 14th chapter of 'Hoang Le Unification Chronicle,' we can see that Quang Trung is also a military genius, extremely strategic. The battles of Rach Gam - Xoai Mut and Dong Da - Ngoc Hoi have become famous in Vietnamese history, frightening the Northern forces. Firstly, the rapid march of King Quang Trung, from December 25th in Hue, arrived in Tam Diep only five days later, 500km from Hue. It must be said that there has never been a march that amazed us to that extent. Talking about that time, marching depended solely on manpower, without support, yet by the night of December 30th, he was present in the North, ready to advance and attack the enemy. Quang Trung planned the campaign, promised his soldiers that they would celebrate Tet in Thang Long on January 7th. Quang Trung personally planned the attack, organized the soldiers, personally led the offensive fronts, and rode elephants to motivate the troops,... If not for a strategic king, could Quang Trung have achieved such extraordinary feats, defeating over 20,000 Qing troops, or not?
