Apple Pay supports payments in Vietnam from August 8, 2023
According to Apple, Apple Pay is supported on iPhone models from iPhone 6 to the latest iPhone 14 series. As for smartwatches, it requires Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 9 or later.
Before Apple Pay was introduced in Vietnam, some similar payment services had also appeared on other flagship phones such as Samsung Pay and Google Wallet.
3. Which banks support Apple Pay?
Announcements from Apple indicate that initially, Apple Pay will allow linkage with several popular banks in Vietnam such as Vietcombank, Techcombank, MB Bank, VP Bank, ACB,... The supported card types include Visa, JCB, MasterCard, and American Express.
Currently, users can make Apple Pay transactions at various stores and services such as Lotte Mart, Hasaki, Winmart, Phúc Long, Starbucks, Highlands Coffee, McDonald's, CGV,...
