Listen to the Podcast sample for IELTS Speaking Part 2 - Discuss your favorite TV program:
Regarding a TV program that left a strong impression on me, I would mention “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”. It’s a game show where contestants tackle a quiz challenge for a grand prize worth millions in VND. While I don't watch it much these days, new episodes used to air every Tuesday evening.
Each episode featured a different participant. Occasionally, there were special episodes with celebrities, but typically, it was regular individuals like you and me. Contestants faced questions on a wide range of topics, making success almost impossible. Correct answers increased the prize, but the difficulty also escalated with each question.
A single incorrect answer meant losing instantly and part of the prize money. Contestants, seated in the dreaded “hot seat”, were under immense pressure.
This program left a lasting impression on me due to the challenge of winning the grand prize. As far as I can recall, no one ever answered the final question correctly. Yet, watching it has broadened my knowledge, enabling me to converse on a variety of topics.

Certainly, I believe TV should play a part in broadening children’s perspectives. Considering children have ample free time, they inevitably spend some of it watching TV. The role might be modest, yet it remains significant. Parents can utilize TV as a tool to aid their children by regulating their daily viewing habits to include informative channels, alongside those designed specifically for children.
