British University Vietnam (BUV) introduces 6 training programs and 1 new major endorsed by UK universities.
From the academic year 2024, British University Vietnam officially adds 6 training programs and 1 new major, encompassing: Bachelor of Business and Management; Bachelor of Economics and Management; Bachelor of Finance and Accounting; Bachelor of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence; Bachelor of Game Graphics; and Bachelor of Professional Communication (Business, Creative, Strategic); alongside the specialization in Animation under the Contemporary Creative Applications program.
Specifically, the Bachelor programs in Business and Management, Economics and Management, Finance and Accounting conferred by the University of London will be officially taught at BUV from the academic year 2024, providing more study options for students in economics, business, and finance fields. The entire curriculum and exams are designed and graded by the London School of Economics and Political Science, a member institution of the University of London and ranked top 3 best universities in the UK (according to the 2024 University League Tables). Established in 1836, the University of London is one of the oldest and largest university institutions in the UK, comprising 17 member university campuses.
With the Game Graphics training program, students will be equipped with specialized knowledge of professional game development tools, learning how to create game prototypes and gain practical experience. The program is accredited by Staffordshire University - Top 10 UK universities for employability and ranked 7th globally for Design & Game Development training. Another training program at BUV also accredited by Staffordshire University is the Bachelor of Contemporary Creative Applications specialization in Animation, for young enthusiasts passionate about bringing life to objects through 2D, 3D technology, and Stop Motion techniques.
Accredited by the University of Stirling, the Bachelor of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program focuses on training knowledge and skills related to data technology and data analysis. The visual teaching model and practical content help students grasp how to develop new processes and technologies, confidently apply technology for professional purposes.
Additionally, another Bachelor's program taught at BUV is Professional Communication (Business, Creative, Strategy) awarded by Arts University Bournemouth. This is one of the leading art universities in the creative industry in the UK, awarded Gold by TEF and HEFCE for outstanding teaching framework. This program will equip students with creative skills both in ideas and practice, sharp strategic thinking, and effective communication abilities. Students will explore creative communication methods, integrate research into business and design strategies, to develop comprehensive communication solutions, meeting brand objectives. This interdisciplinary approach prepares students for creative and business-related positions, strategic roles in the communication industry.
Professor Rick Bennett, Vice Rector and Vice President of BUV, shared: 'Introducing new training programs and majors marks an important step forward for British University Vietnam in expansion and development. This also reflects our response to the Vietnamese economy and the government's summit programs in the fields of Gaming, Technology, Business, and Communication. The programs are designed to meet market demands, equipping students with the necessary skills to enter the labor market. We hope these programs will open new doors for students, helping young people become confident, ready to become global citizens in today's world.'
At the press conference, BUV also officially announced the Scholarship Fund and Financial Support for 2024 with a total value of up to 87 billion VND, contributing to providing talented students with more opportunities to pursue Bachelor's and postgraduate programs of the United Kingdom in an internationally standardized education environment.
The scholarship fund includes several prestigious scholarship categories with support ranging from 50% - 100% tuition fees such as: UK Ambassador Scholarship, Rector Scholarship, Training Director Scholarship. Among them, the Lion's Heart Scholarship is specially dedicated to students with physical disadvantages, health issues, or difficult family circumstances, demonstrating strong willpower, courage, and extraordinary 'fighting' spirit to overcome personal barriers, strive for outstanding achievements, and inspire others positively.
Furthermore, BUV also offers Talent Scholarships for students with outstanding achievements in sports, culture, and arts, Cooperation Scholarships for outstanding individuals from partner high schools, along with various scholarship programs and financial support for excellent students.
Having undergone a journey of operation, BUV has been continuously expanding in all academic and operational activities, with the goal of contributing to the development of Vietnam's education. This goal is clearly demonstrated through BUV's enhancement and expansion of partner networks to bring in more Bachelor's programs from UK universities, establishing cooperative relationships with the University of Stirling and Arts University Bournemouth, while enhancing learning opportunities for students through the Scholarship Fund and Financial Support 2024. Earlier this year, the university announced plans to expand the 5-star quality campus at Ecopark with a total investment of up to 165 million USD, expected to be completed by 2028 and capable of meeting teaching needs for over 10,000 students.
