My Adventure on an Elephant Safari
We embarked on an elephant safari at a location called Camp Jabulani in South Africa. They offer safari rides to visitors twice a day: once in the morning and once at night. Guests are allowed to join as many rides as they wish, but they won't let you ride an elephant if you're under twelve years old. Luckily, I'm fifteen. On our first safari, I felt quite nervous. I remember thinking we could have opted for a beach vacation instead. As I climbed onto the elephant, I wondered how I would manage such a large animal. I soon realized I shouldn't have worried so much. They pair you with an experienced elephant handler, so you’re not riding alone. During the trek, we spotted giraffes, zebras, lions, and rhinos. My parents took numerous photos. I would have taken some too, but I had forgotten my camera in my room. I can't recall exactly how long the safaris lasted, but it must have been a couple of hours as we returned just in time for a meal. We stayed at Camp Jabulani for three days and participated in four elephant safaris. We could have joined more, but one day my mom wasn't feeling well. Overall, it was a fantastic holiday. I'd definitely recommend an elephant safari.
