1. Ý nghĩa và cách sử dụng cấu trúc in order to và so as to trong tiếng Anh
Cấu trúc In order to và so as to có nghĩa là “để, để mà”, được dùng trong câu để giới thiệu mục đích của hành động được nhắc đến ngay trước đó.

Các cấu trúc In order to và So as to
S + V + in order/so as + (not) + to + V ….
Ví dụ:
- I put in effort to pass the test (Tôi nỗ lực để đỗ kỳ thi).
- I worked hard to avoid failing the test (Tôi học hành chăm chỉ để tránh trượt kỳ thi)
2.2 Cấu trúc in order to - Khi mục đích hành động hướng tới một đối tượng khác
S + V + in order + for O + (not) + to + V ….
Ví dụ:
She works hard so that her child can have a better life (Cô ấy làm việc chăm chỉ để con mình có cuộc sống tốt hơn).
2.3 Một vài lưu ý về cấu trúc so as to/ in order to trong tiếng Anh
- Cấu trúc in order to/ so as to chỉ áp dụng khi hai chủ từ trong hai câu giống nhau
- Loại bỏ chủ từ trong câu sau và giữ lại từ động từ sau nó.
- Cấu trúc in order to và cấu trúc in order that có cách sử dụng khác nhau.
Ví dụ:
I study hard in order to pass the exam. (Tôi học hành chăm chỉ để vượt qua kỳ thi).
-> I study hard so that I can pass the exam. (Tôi học hành chăm chỉ để có thể vượt qua kỳ thi)
