This flower species belongs to the cherry blossom family but shares the color of Japanese sakura, hence collectively known as cherry blossom. The tree trunk resembles that of a plum, while the flowers, with five petals, resemble plum blossoms.
Cherry blossoms often bloom simultaneously, enhancing the beauty of every corner of the city. At the beginning of the dry season around October each year, the trees gradually shed their leaves, leaving them bare. As the seasons transition in mid-January, cherry blossoms bloom, signaling the arrival of spring.

The cherry blossoms have a short blooming period, so you need to seize the moment. You can easily admire these flowers along the following routes:
- Tran Hung Dao Street: Cherry blossoms bloom vividly along the row of ancient villas in Cadasa
- Around Xuan Huong Lake: Numerous ancient cherry blossom trees surround Xuan Huong Lake
- Da Quy Slope: The place where cherry blossoms on both sides of the road bloom abundantly and last longest in Da Lat.
