1. Tổng quan lý thuyết về câu tường thuật trong tiếng Anh lớp 11
Câu gián tiếp với To - infinitive
Khi các câu phát biểu hoặc mệnh lệnh được tường thuật với các động từ nhất định, ta sử dụng cấu trúc to - Vo, ví dụ:
a. V + to - V
Các động từ như: agree; decide; demand; determine; expect; guarantee; hope; offer; promise; refuse; say; want; wish; propose
Ví dụ: Ok. I will give you a lift, John said.
John đồng ý chở tôi đi.
b. V + O + to - Vo
Danh sách một số động từ như: advise; allow; ask; beg; command; encourage; expect; help; invite; instruct; order; permit; persuade; remind; request; require; tell; urge; want; warn
Ví dụ: Tôi đã nói với Kate, 'Đừng quên gửi thiệp sinh nhật cho Mark.'
Tôi đã nhắc nhở Kate gửi thiệp sinh nhật cho Mark
II. Câu gián tiếp với Gerund
Khi các câu phát biểu được dẫn lại với những động từ nhất định, chúng ta dùng V - ing kèm theo
a. V + V - ing
Danh sách một số động từ như: admit; deny; proposal (dự định); request; stop; suggest; try
Ví dụ: Jimmy nói, 'Tôi không lấy tiền của bạn.'
Jimmy phủ nhận việc đã lấy tiền của tôi
b. V + prep + V - ing
Danh sách một số động từ như: apologize (to + S.O) for; approve of; confess to; dream of; insist on; look forward to; think of
Ví dụ: Peter đã nói, 'Tôi chắc chắn sẽ mua ngôi nhà này.'
Peter đã khăng khăng mua ngôi nhà đó
c. V + S.O + prep + V - ing
Danh sách một số động từ như: accuse S.O of; blame S.O for; congratulate S.O on; prevent/ stop S.O from; thank S.O for; warn S.O against; criticize S.O for (not)
Ví dụ: Chúc mừng, Jane. Bạn đã vượt qua kỳ thi
Tôi đã chúc mừng Jane vì đã vượt qua kỳ thi
