Firstly, ensure you have installed Camtasia Studio 9 on your computer. If not, click the link below to download and install.

Step 1: Open Camtasia Studio 9 on your computer.
Step 2: On the workspace interface, click on Import Media and navigate to the path of the video you want to edit and add effects. Left-click on the video and select Open
Step 3: At this point, your chosen video is in the Media Bin. Right-click on it and choose Add to Timeline at Playhead.
Step 4: Click on the Cursor Effect in the function list on the left side of the screen. Here, there are 3 different effect tabs:
- Cursor Effect: Create cursor effect.
- Left Click: Create left mouse click effect.
- Right Click: Create right mouse click effect.
For the purpose of this article, we will select the Cursor Effect tab.
Step 5: Next, Camtasia Studio 9 provides users with 3 effects to choose from.
- Cursor Highlight: Create a glowing effect around the mouse cursor.
Step 6: To fine-tune for a more appealing effect, users click on Properties at the top right of the workspace, select the Cursor Properties tab.
Here, Camtasia Studio 9 provides a diverse set of customization tools for the cursor effect, including:
- Cursor Effects:
+ Scale: Resize the cursor.
+ Opacity: Adjust the transparency of the cursor.
- Effects for the glowing area around the cursor:
+ Color: Customize the glow color.
+ Opacity: Adjust the transparency of the glow.
+ Size: Adjust the size of the glow.
+ Ease in: Time to initiate the effect after movement.
+ Ease out: Time to fade the effect after the cursor stops.
Immediately, the effect will be applied to the video segment. You can click to preview before saving and exporting the file.
