1. What characteristics do inventors have?

There are various attributes required to become inventors. Certainly, they must initially be knowledgeable to generate new ideas that can fundamentally transform our way of life and enhance our lives. I don’t think an ordinary person like me or any of my friends would become inventors as we aren’t bright enough to solve basic math problems, let alone formulate advanced mathematical principles like Sir Isaac Newton did. Additionally, our ability to create something new may also hinge on our dedication. We must truly devote ourselves to numerous trials and experiments to achieve the final products.

2. Do you think only scientists are capable of inventing new things?

Not really. Although in most cases, new technologies are developed by scientists or professional inventors, once in a blue moon, there are innovations that come from ordinary people like us. Sometimes it’s not about introducing something entirely new and beneficial; it’s about the ability to think outside the box and enhance existing inventions or contribute to societal improvement, which can also make us inventors.

3. Which inventions do you believe should be enhanced?

To be honest, I haven’t given it much thought. Hmm, perhaps mobile phones could benefit from further enhancements. They have only been around for about 30 years and have become so powerful that it feels like our lives revolve around these small devices. However, this also highlights the potential dangers of phones. Young people today often experience a short attention span due to constantly staring at screens. It may be time for inventive minds to devise solutions to mitigate this issue.

4. Are there other inventions that contribute positively to the world?

I am considering electric cars, which help preserve the environment by reducing our carbon footprint and dependence on fossil fuels. It would also be remiss not to mention healthcare innovations such as COVID-19 vaccines and various antibiotics. These advancements have saved millions of lives worldwide and enable us to achieve longevity to explore more of the world.

5. Do all inventions bring benefits to our world?

That’s a really challenging question to answer accurately. I believe all inventions are like a double-edged sword. Certainly, inventions can elevate our living standards, providing us with convenience and comfort. However, the path to achieving these advancements can sometimes be harrowing, involving pain and suffering for many involved in these experiments. Immoral and unethical studies conducted globally in pursuit of new treatments for diseases such as AIDS, cancer, or antibiotics have caused thousands of participants to be infected with diseases or viruses, subjecting them to various medications to determine the correct dosage for humans. My conclusion is that while all inventions deserve praise for their remarkable contributions to the world, we must also acknowledge that these breakthroughs can be nightmarish for some people.

6. Who should support and sponsor inventors, governments, or private companies?

In my view, there should be collaboration between the private sector and governments. Corporations involved in scientific research, driven by profit motives, strive to introduce groundbreaking inventions to the world. This benefits us by introducing new products. However, their pursuit of profit may sometimes lead them to manipulate or alter experimental results to enhance the competitiveness of their products in the market. Unfortunately, they do so at the expense of human lives. Therefore, governments should oversee and regularly monitor these experiments to safeguard us.
