1. Do you believe parents should offer advice to their children? 

It depends. Certainly, one of the primary roles of parents is to provide children with guidance and assistance, particularly when they face challenges. If your child encounters difficulties in personal relationships or struggles with work-related issues, then as a parent, you should advise them on how to navigate these situations, drawing from your own experience and wisdom gained from similar challenges in the past.

Nevertheless, I understand that children may sometimes reject parental advice due to differing perspectives, potentially leading to conflicts. In such cases, perhaps it is best for parents to withhold their advice.

2. Should teachers provide advice to students? 

Yes, but only on specific matters.

If it concerns matters strictly related to education, such as a student's academic performance or selecting a suitable college major, then it is appropriate for teachers to offer some advice as it falls within their professional responsibilities. However, beyond these boundaries, I do not believe it would be appropriate for teachers to intervene in personal matters, such as family issues or relationships. Such actions could be seen as unprofessional and out of line.

3. Do you think it is necessary for us to heed a friend’s advice? 

I mean, if that friend is sensitive, yes. Some friends might feel hurt if their advice is ignored, and this could affect their willingness to offer advice in the future. When you give someone sincere advice and they completely disregard it, it's natural to take it personally or feel disappointed.

However, if you disagree with your friend's advice, you are not obligated to follow it, as long as you communicate this clearly to avoid any misunderstandings.

4. How do people give advice to young and old individuals? 

Well, when it comes to young people, it's important not to appear patronizing towards them. Therefore, we should maintain patience and show respect when offering advice to the youth. The same principle applies to older individuals, who also deserve to be treated with respect. Some older adults can be quite prideful, so if we look down upon them while giving advice, it may not yield the best results.

This tendency is particularly pronounced among older individuals, as some of them are deeply set in their ways.

Yes, I did receive advice from my high school teacher regarding my choice of college major. I followed her advice and enrolled in a program specializing in international economics. While it was a suitable choice, it wasn't my passion, so I eventually changed fields after graduating.
