IELTS Speaking Part 2 example Discuss a restaurant you enjoyed visiting
Actually, I’m a genuine foodie, and I frequently wander the city where I reside to sample many delectable cuisines. My favorite restaurant is named for its chief executive officer Jenny Nguyen, and it is situated in the HaNoi City suburbs. I originally visited this restaurant with some of my university friends for a get-together party and fell in love with it right away. After that, we made the decision that all of our important occasions would take place there.
The restaurant offers a variety of delicacies, including ice cream, unique desserts, beverages, and meals for breakfast and lunch. The greatest lattes are made there, and the sandwiches, salads, and specialty soups are all excellent. They also make pretty fantastic coffee. Additionally, the eatery serves a variety of mouthwatering, homemade cakes. However, I usually get the same thing whenever I eat there: scrambled eggs on wholemeal bread with mushrooms since I love them the best!
There are several reasons why I adore this restaurant. The first and most important reason is because they are decorated. The seating arrangement is excellent, and the restaurant is tastefully furnished throughout with artwork of worldwide luminaries on the walls.
In addition, I really adore this restaurant’s exceptional smoked salmon, which no other establishment can satisfy my craving for. In addition, the service is outstanding. At other sites, I used to encounter delays and various issues, but this practically never happened. Everything is always in working condition, and I’ve always had first-rate customer service.

What are the reasons people prefer dining in restaurants?
Going out to eat is a method for people to unwind when they frequently eat at home. Others believe that trying a new style of cooking can be gratifying because various regions have unique recipes for the same meal.
- Unwind (v): thư giãn
- Gratifying (adj): hài lòng
What are your views on the advantages and disadvantages of eating at home versus dining out?
People may make food together at home, which is a noteworthy advantage, especially during significant gatherings. This is often the moment when individuals catch up with one another. Additionally, the cost is significantly lower than dining outside. However, I would argue that washing a mountain of dirty dishes is rather unpleasant when it comes to cleaning, especially for a party.
- Noteworthy (adj): đáng chú ý
Are larger restaurants generally considered better than smaller ones?
I don’t believe this concept is accurate in all cultures. For instance, the food of Vietnam is distinctive due to the vendor shops there. Vermicelli with grilled pork is hardly the type of traditional dish that patrons would prefer to consume in a five-star establishment. Therefore, expensive restaurants are not always preferable to street vendors selling affordable meals.
- Vendor shops (n): nhà cung cấp
- Vermicelli (n): bún tàu
- Grilled pork (n): thịt lợn nướng
Why do people choose to dine at restaurants when celebrating something?
A celebration of something necessitates extensive preparations, and those celebrating are kept occupied during the event only for the purpose of preparation. Therefore, the fact that they are unable to enjoy the festivities is a fairly common problem. The most crucial component of every celebration is its food, which must be prepared in enormous quantities and is nearly difficult to create at home. Thus, the concept of holding the events at restaurants has been developed. Restaurants are where food is prepared for a huge number of people and where a sizable number of customers may be served at once, something that is actually hard to do at home. Consequently, people are more likely to dine out during their celebration.
- Necessitate (v): bắt buộc, đòi hỏi
In your country, which are more popular: fast food restaurants or traditional ones?
Due to their work and the fact that they must spend the most of their time away from home, the countrymen currently prefer eating out. However, they are health-conscious and avoid eating at fast food establishments. Thereby, they take food from the traditional restaurants. A portion of the younger generations buy meals from fast food restaurants, despite the fact that adults are accustomed to eating traditional cuisine and dining in traditional establishments.
- Health-conscious (adj): có ý thức về sức khỏe
Some argue that food in expensive restaurants is always superior to that in cheaper ones – do you agree?
The significance of pricey meals in some restaurants is notable, but affordable dining options are also available. However, there is a fundamental difference in the quality of food and the cleanliness standards between upscale and budget eateries. Moreover, the service in upscale restaurants is commendable. In contrast, budget restaurants may lack amenities and offer food in a less appealing environment. Therefore, while pricier, dining at a standard restaurant is essential for quality food and environment.- Accessible (adj): có thể truy cập
- Upscale restaurants (n): nhà hàng cao cấp
- Impeccable (adj): hoàn hảo
- Commendable (adj): đáng khen ngợi
