Speaking Example: Describe a tranquil place you enjoy visiting
To be honest, I am quite introverted, so I am particularly drawn to places that exude peace and quiet. However, living in a bustling city like Hanoi, where almost every corner is filled with chaos and the constant honking of motorbikes, rarely affords me the opportunity to fully immerse myself in such a serene atmosphere.
So today, I want to share with you a unique place of perfect tranquility that I always long to visit, especially when life throws challenges at me and plunges me into despair. It’s my dad’s meticulously tended flower garden in our serene provincial hometown. Honestly, my dad is an avid gardener. Since I was little, I've spent most of my time helping my parents with small gardening chores like planting seeds, weeding, and pruning unwanted stems for chrysanthemums. Situated amidst vast rice fields, you mostly hear the gentle rustling of the breeze through the rice stalks, birds chirping atop distant banyan trees, and frogs croaking at dusk. During spring, as Tet approaches, my dad's garden bursts with beautifully blooming flowers such as delicate white heath-bells, vibrant red dahlias, and softly yellow chrysanthemums swaying in the wind. I'm always captivated by this breathtaking sight.
Unfortunately, the garden has now shrunk, making way for more perennial fruit trees as, thankfully, my siblings and I have grown up and established ourselves with stable jobs. This has relieved my dad of the financial burden he once carried. However, whenever I return to my hometown and gaze upon the lush green garden today, all my nostalgic childhood memories come flooding back vividly and powerfully. Hence, the garden remains my most treasured place, grounding me in my true self and my deep roots. In the future, regardless of where I live or who I become, deep down, I will always be a humble countryside girl with great ambitions and a passion for life.
