1. Which one is more important, personal goals or work goals?
It all boils down to your priorities.
On the one hand, if you are not career-focused, then personal goals would naturally take precedence. You would concentrate more on self-improvement and be driven by personal growth aspects. On the other hand, for highly motivated achievers, the emphasis would certainly be on advancing in their professional life.
Nevertheless, it could be argued that personal goals are more comprehensive and can also be aligned with career objectives. Therefore, placing importance on personal development indicates a serious approach to one's career as well.

- high-achiever (n): người cầu tiến

2. Have your life goals changed since your childhood?
Yes, they have, significantly.
I used to have big dreams when I was a naive child; I aimed to become a lawyer and fight for justice to improve the world. However, as I matured, I lost much of that innocence and realized it was merely a distant dream. Consequently, I now set more practical goals for my life and career. Currently, my aspiration is to make a meaningful impact on my students' lives by enhancing their English skills and to lead a happy and fulfilling life.
- a pipe dream: 1 giấc mơ hão huyền
3. Does everyone set goals for themselves?
I cannot speak for everyone, but I believe the highly motivated individuals do have objectives they wish to accomplish in terms of their professional growth, relationships, and more. Perhaps they aim to achieve financial success by their 40s or marry into wealth and spend their later years living a luxurious lifestyle to experience the best the world has to offer.
Those who are confused, however, often lack any ambitions. They tend to live in the present rather than worry about the future. Such individuals typically just go with the flow and see where life leads them.
- ultra-driven (adj): có quyết tâm cao
- jet-setting (adj): du lịch nhiều bằng máy bay
- disoriented (adj): thiếu định hướng
- aspiration (n): khát vọng, ước mơ
- to wing it: ứng biến
4. What types of rewards are important in the workplace?
To begin with, I would say it’s money, the most critical external reward of all. This can be in the form of a bonus, a salary increase, or even a paid trip to an exotic location. Nothing motivates more than material rewards, so when an employee receives money for their exceptional performance, it motivates them to work harder and be more dedicated to the company, thereby enhancing its overall performance and productivity. Many companies have accomplished remarkable achievements in part due to their generous policy of external rewards for their employees.
- incentivize (v): khuyến khích
- great deed: những việc lớn
5. Do you believe that material rewards are more important than other rewards in the workplace?
Admittedly, material rewards are a significant factor for employees. We all work for money, so a financial reward would naturally top every employee’s list. However, this doesn’t mean that monetary rewards are paramount. People desire more than just monetary rewards. They also seek proper acknowledgment for their hard work and contributions to their organizations. This makes them feel valued within the organization and enhances their job satisfaction.
- a big deal: 1 cái gì quan trọng
6. What makes individuals proud of themselves?
There are many factors, one being the sense of accomplishment. Individuals need to feel that they are doing something meaningful in their lives, not merely going around in circles. Therefore, achieving something significant to them would undoubtedly bring satisfaction and a sense of pride. Examples could include financial success or a strong social status that commands respect, prestige, and admiration.
Another factor could be self-realization, such as overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges and realizing one's own strength. This would certainly fill them with self-pride.
- run around in circles: làm những việc vô bổ
- gratification (n): niềm vui
- insurmountable (adj): không thể vượt qua được
- adversity (n): nghịch cảnh
