By default, Windows 10 will display a corner for suggesting downloading apps from the Windows Store. This is a pretty cool and interesting feature, but if you don't have the need to explore and consider it as junk feature or a Windows 10 bug, you can easily disable app suggestions in Start Menu on Windows 10. Note that this is not a Windows 10 bug but just an unnecessary feature for many users. Other operating systems like Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 do not encounter this issue.
This trick is similar to changing the Start Menu color on Windows 10, both will intervene in the Settings of the system.
Disable app suggestions in Start Menu on Windows 10
Method 1: Use system settings to disable app suggestions in Start Menu on Windows 10.
Step 1: Access Settings by pressing the Start button > select Settings from the side panel.
Or you can also press the Windows + I key combination to quickly open the Settings command box on your computer.
Step 2: In the Settings interface, navigate to the Personalization option.
Step 3: Select the Start tab within Personalization.
On the side panel, you will see a customization named Occasionally show suggestions in Start, meaning that the Start Menu will always display suggested apps within it.
Step 4: Toggle the On > Off switch within the customization to disable the app suggestion feature in Start Menu on Windows 10.
Method 2: Directly Disable App Suggestions.
Simply right-click directly on the app suggestion, a context menu will display two additional small options for users including:
- Don’t show this suggestion: Stop suggesting this app individually.
- Turn off all suggestions: Disable all suggestions from the Windows Store app repository.
So depending on your purpose, you can choose one of the two options. Just like many other system settings, Start Menu is an extremely important tool in Windows, if unfortunately you encounter Start Menu issues on Windows 10, you need to find ways to update Win 10, or use various tools like Command Prompt or PowerShell to solve the problem, but remember to choose the correct version to update Win 10 instead of selecting all versions of patches.
Wishing you all success!
