Essential Information
- For Android users, tap on your profile icon in the Reddit app, navigate to Settings, and toggle the switch next to 'Display NSFW content.'
- On an iPhone, access Settings > Reddit and switch on 'Display NSFW Content (18+).'
- On a computer, click on your profile picture, select User Settings > Feed Settings, and activate 'Adult content.'
Instructions
Using the Android App
Launch Reddit. Click on the app icon resembling the Reddit logo against an orange backdrop.
Select your profile icon. Located at the upper right corner of your display, this will trigger a dropdown menu.
Access Settings. This option is adjacent to a gear icon located at the menu's bottom.
- To obscure adult content images, toggle the switch beside 'Blur NSFW Images' to activate it. This ensures that onlookers can't view the images displayed on your screen. You can revert the blur by simply tapping on the images.
iPhone Guide
Access Settings. Tap on the gear-shaped icon set against a light grey background.
Locate and select Reddit. You may need to scroll a bit to find Reddit among your installed applications.
- If you wish to view adult content but with a blur, activate the switch adjacent to 'Blur NSFW Images.'
- Close the Reddit app and reopen it to implement your changes.
- If this approach doesn't suit you, consider using the mobile browser instead of the application.
Using the Mobile Browser
Visit https://www.reddit.com/ using a web browser on your mobile device. Choose any web browser on your phone or tablet to proceed.
- You might see a prompt to continue in the app. Select Continue next to your web browser's icon to proceed in the mobile browser.
- If not already logged in, tap the three-line menu at the top right, then choose 'Sign Up or Log In.'
Click on the ☰ icon. Located at the upper right corner of the page.
Select Settings. This is the gear icon located within the menu.
Select Account settings. This will open the same settings page you'd see on a computer.
Click on the Feed Settings tab. This tab is displayed horizontally on your screen alongside other options like Account, Profile, and Safety & Privacy.
- After toggling the switch, a 'Changes Saved' message will appear from Reddit at the screen's bottom.
- To view NSFW images in a blurred 'Safe Browsing' mode, toggle the adjacent switch.
Restart the Reddit mobile app after closing your browser. You can either use your mobile browser to browse NSFW content or continue using the Reddit app since you've adjusted your account settings.
Using a Computer Web Browser
Visit https://www.reddit.com via a web browser. If not logged in, click on LOG IN at the page's top to sign in.
Select your Reddit username. Located at the upper right of the page, this will trigger a dropdown menu.
Select User Settings. Located at the menu's top under 'My Stuff.'
Click on the Feed Settings tab. Positioned near the page's upper center.
- Some NSFW content may still appear blurred in search results due to Apple App Store and Google Play Store regulations, even after modifying these settings.
