Bạn có quan tâm đến hiện tượng nóng lên toàn cầu không?
In my opinion, when it comes to environmental issues, particularly those related to global warming, one cannot adopt the ostrich approach. I frequently read articles and watch documentaries on global warming because I believe that staying informed on the subject helps you live a more sustainable and environmentally responsible life, even though hearing the news about how humans are driving flora and fauna to the brink of extinction can be unsettling.
- Ostrich approach (n): cách tiếp cận đà điểu, tự lừa dối mình
- Sustainable (adj): bền vững
- Responsible (adj): có trách nhiệm
- Flora (n): hệ thực vật
- Fauna (n): hệ động vật
- The brink of extinction (n): bờ vực tuyệt chủng
- Unsettling (adj): đáng lo ngại
Hiện tượng này có ảnh hưởng đến cuộc sống của bạn như thế nào không?
As a result of extensive climate change brought on by global warming, Vietnam’s summers are now much longer than they used to be, which irritates me because I’ve never been a fan of the heat. It is getting a little riskier to live in my nation as extreme weather events like typhoons or heat waves are occurring considerably more frequently.
- Irritates (v): làm khó chịu
- Typhoons (n): bão tố
- Heat waves (n): sóng nhiệt
How did you discover global warming?
Given that global warming is one of the most urgent challenges of the 21st century, there has been a lot of media coverage of the subject in recent decades. I believe I first encountered the word when I was just 6 or 7 years old because it was mentioned in a book I was reading at the time.
- Urgent (adj): cấp bách
- Media coverage (n): phương tiện truyền thông
- Encounter (v): gặp
IELTS Speaking part 2 example: Discussing global warming

Analysis of the topic Discuss global warming
Describe an environmental problem (global warming). You should say: What the problem is. What is the cause of it. What the effects of the problem are. And explain how we can solve this problem. |

Numerous environmental problems exist in the globe today, including waste management, deforestation, biodiversity, etc. But now I want to focus more on a problem that has rightfully received a lot of public attention: global warming.
To put it simply, global warming is a process in which the average annual temperature of the entire planet is rising far more quickly. Since the industrial revolution, the world has experienced some of the hottest years ever recorded, and according to several studies, time is running out to address this problem.
The atmosphere’s many heat-trapping pollutants, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and synthetic fluorinated gasses, which capture sunlight heat that might otherwise escape into space, are mostly to blame for this issue. These pollutants are a result of human activity, particularly the combustion of fossil fuels for energy production or transportation.
The negative effects that this environmental problem will have on the world are already evident. Scientists claim that longer heat waves, more severe droughts, heavier rainfall, and more powerful tropical storms are all being fueled by average temperature increases. The aforementioned natural disasters endanger the health and safety of many people by killing tens of thousands of people annually and destroying the houses of many communities.
Additionally, as a result of climate change brought on by global warming, many creatures and plants lose their natural habitats and go extinct. And those are just two of the many negative consequences of global warming. More alternative energy technology must be used, and emissions must be drastically reduced, to tackle this problem.
Governments and businesses must set up policies right now that meet or exceed the new manufacturing standards for environmental friendliness. By reducing their own carbon footprint, each person can also contribute to this global initiative. We as a community can only preserve a sustainable environment for our future generations by doing that.

Sample discussion on global warming in IELTS Speaking part 3

Mời bạn cùng nghe bài phát thanh mẫu Phần 3 của Mytour nhé:
Do you believe that governments worldwide are taking adequate steps to combat global warming?
I believe that significant attempts are being made to slow the rate at which the Earth is warming. Numerous groups have been describing numerous geoengineering concepts, which are alternate ways to slow global warming, and various rules that try to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in numerous industries have been put into action. Although there has been a lot of progress, I do believe that governments and corporations need to uphold their commitments if we hope to prevent the serious effects of global warming in the near future. This is because many initiatives that contribute to global warming are still receiving funding.
- Attempts (n): nỗ lực
- Geoengineer (n): địa kỹ thuật
- Carbon dioxide emissions (n): khí thải CO2
- Uphold sb’s commitments: duy trì các cam kết
Is teaching students about environmental protection important in schools?
Certainly. There are several justifications for this, but the most crucial one is that it will make them appreciate the need to protect our world. Children learn about the world as they become older and begin to form their own opinions and values. They will carry it with them for the rest of their life if we can inculcate in them a love of nature and a desire to preserve the environment at a young age. They will also be better positioned to effect good change in terms of environmental policy and practices as they get older and enter the workforce.
- Justifications (n): lời biện minh
- Inculcate (v): khắc sâu
What actions should we take to resolve this issue?
There are numerous methods to alleviate this issue. Governments and businesses should globally invest in technologies that can harness energy from alternative renewable sources, like biomass or solar energy, rather than burning fossil fuels, which emit significant amounts of heat-trapping gases. Individuals can adjust their daily habits in small ways, such as reducing driving or planting more trees. Even though these solutions are simple, if many people adopt them, they can have a substantial impact.- Mitigate (v): giảm nhẹ
- Investments (n): sự đầu tư
- Harness (v): khai thác
- Biomass (n): sinh khối
- Heat-trapping gasses (n): khí giữ nhiệt
