1. Enhanced Select Subject Feature
In Photoshop CC 2020, the Select Subject feature, powered by Adobe's advanced artificial intelligence platform Sensei, has undergone significant improvements. Select Subject now analyzes the image and automatically selects the main subject in the photo with just a few clicks.
2. Swift Object Extraction
The Select and Mask dialog (formerly known as Refine Edge) now includes a new Quick Selection tool, enabling users to rapidly and precisely choose objects in a breeze.
After selecting an object, Photoshop will automatically isolate that object.
3. Object Selection and Background Removal
In the latest Photoshop CC update, the Properties window has added two new useful features. Users can utilize the Rectangle area or Lasso tool to choose objects. Photoshop will analyze and select the designated object.
The Object selection tool functions like Quick Mask. To remove the background, simply click the Delete background option, and the background will be automatically removed from the image.
4. Content-Aware Fill Feature
Content-Aware Fill is also one of the AI-powered features. In the Photoshop CC 2020 update, the Content-Aware Fill feature has undergone significant improvements.
The Sampling Area Options feature allows users to select points, undesired areas to be removed from the images. Additionally, users now have access to options:
- Automatic: Photoshop automatically determines areas to fill based on color and texture.
- Custom: Users can choose areas using the Brush tool.
5. Zoom into Selected Layer
To zoom into a layer, simply click on the desired layer and simultaneously hold the Alt key.
6. Updated Presets Panel
In the latest Photoshop version, the Presets panel has been separated into its own panel. To apply presets (essentially pre-tuned image settings), simply drag them into the preview window.
7. Use the '-' key as an Eraser tool
Previously, to erase a point or anything drawn with the Brush tool, we had to access the Eraser tool or click E. Now, to erase something drawn with the Brush tool, just press the '-' key.
8. Close Other Tabs
Previously, when working with multiple different images, we had to manually close each tab, a process that invisibly consumed a significant amount of time and effort. With Photoshop CC 2020, simply right-click on the active image and choose Close others to close other image tabs.
9. Cloud Library
In the latest Photoshop 2020 update, a new cloud library has been added, allowing users to sync and optimize activities across the desktop and mobile applications, including Photoshop, XD, Fresco, and Aero.
Although the cloud library is stored separately, independent of Creative Cloud files, it still occupies storage space.
10. Additional Features
Apart from the mentioned enhancements, the Photoshop CC 2020 update also includes several other small improvements such as updating the Warp and Transformation tools, saving images as GIFs by accessing File => Save,... .
