1. Test every day, every hour, every time
With paper-based tests, candidates usually only get to test on Saturdays (sometimes on Thursdays), but with CDI, you can test almost any day! Not to mention the wide range of time slots available—you can choose to test in the morning like paper-based tests, or choose the afternoon session (1:30) and the evening session (5:30).
I opted for the evening session and found it extremely comfortable because my biological clock worked much better 😀
2. Thủ tục đăng ký nhanh chóng
Số lượng thí sinh tham gia thi CDI ít hơn nhiều so với thi giấy (ít hơn 30 người) do hạn chế số lượng máy tính để đảm bảo chất lượng, do đó thủ tục đăng ký rất nhanh chóng. Hôm đó khi mình thi vào buổi tối thứ 6 chỉ mất khoảng... 5 phút để hoàn thành thủ tục đăng ký.
3. Bài thi Writing rất 'hay'
The thing I like most about taking CDI is the convenience in Writing. I type much faster than I write; not to mention how gentle the erasing is: when there's a good sentence I don't want to write yet, I just type it separately in a corner, then paste it later. With paper tests, I have to erase many times, it's dirty, slow, ugly, and there's a risk of... writing crowded words together.
4. The Reading test is very suitable for those familiar with using computers
If you're used to reading documents and newspapers on a laptop, the CDI exam won't trouble you! The good thing about Reading is that the passage and the questions are divided into two halves: the left half is the Reading Passage, and the right half is the questions, saving you from flipping back and forth like in paper tests.
Many worry that if they don't take notes during Reading, don't worry—the CDI system supports highlighting and note-taking features. For those who fear... losing points due to spelling mistakes, you can completely copy the answers directly from the reading passage and paste them into the answer box.
5. Test results are announced very quickly
Usually about 7 days after taking CDI, you will receive your results. With paper tests, it takes up to 13 days. What I really like about taking IELTS on BC's computer is that the results are sent via EMAIL immediately upon announcement, so I don't have to wait anxiously on the homepage to check scores like before.
