What is Dry Ice?
Dry ice, also known as smoke ice, ice CO2, or CO2 ice, is the solid or frozen form of carbon dioxide (CO2). While there are various types of dry ice, the type used for cooling in air conditioning fans is called dry ice gel.
What is Dry Ice Gel?
Dry ice gel is a mixture composed of gel and water. Think of the gel dissolving in water, forming a naturally cohesive and adhesive mixture. This gel and water mixture is then frozen, creating what is known as gel-form dry ice. The gel in dry ice, when frozen, maintains a low temperature for an extended period, ranging from 5-10 degrees Celsius.
Is Dry Ice Gel Safe for Health in Air Conditioning Fans?
Using dry ice gel for cooling in air conditioning fans does not pose any harm to human health. Ensure the dry ice gel is kept at a temperature of approximately 10-25 degrees Celsius for user safety. Manufacturers use a sturdy plastic layer to tightly encase the liquid form of dry ice. To avoid risks, it is advisable to prevent children from playing with or consuming dry ice.

Safe Usage of Dry Ice in Air Conditioning Fans
When you purchase an air conditioning fan, it often comes with 1-2 boxes of dry ice. If not included, you can buy dry ice boxes separately. To use dry ice for cooling in the air conditioning fan, place the dry ice in the refrigerator compartment to freeze it solid. Then, place the dry ice in the air conditioning fan for use. Dry ice can be used for about 5-8 hours. When it loses its cooling effect, place the dry ice back in the refrigerator to freeze for the next use.
