1. MP7
Our top pick for the best SMG in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the MP7. It's a high-rate-of-fire weapon with low recoil and almost absolute accuracy. While it may not have the highest range or damage stats in the game, it still feels like the best SMG players should use.
However, the only caveat for players is that they can't unlock it until reaching level 54. This means players will have to play many matches, game modes, before getting their hands on the MP7.
2. MP5
While waiting to unlock the MP7 in Multiplayer mode, the MP5 serves as the SMG you can use during this time—a well-balanced gun with good accuracy, damage, range, and manageable recoil.
Compared to the MP7, the MP5 has a slightly lower firing speed and less agility. However, from a gamer's perspective, this is the SMG you should use until you get your hands on the MP7.
