Did you know that the history of Van Phuc silk village dates back over 1000 years? Back then, there was Mrs. A La Thi Nuong, the wife of the Giao Chi prefect. She lived in Van Bao and began teaching silk weaving. From there, people passed down the art of silk making, forming a traditional craft village.
In the years 1931 - 1932, Van Phuc silk was first introduced internationally at exhibitions in Marseille and Paris. International guests praised and showed great interest in this silk product.
From 1958 to 1988, Van Phuc silk was exported to many Eastern European countries. Since 1990, Van Phuc silk products have been exported to numerous countries worldwide, bringing significant profits to Vietnam.
In 2010, artisan Nguyen Huu Chinh designed the Long Van silk pattern to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long. This marked a significant milestone for the position of Van Phuc silk in Vietnam.
Over the course of more than 1000 years, Van Phuc silk village has produced many high-quality silk products, leaving a lasting impression both domestically and internationally.
