When in Lagi, Bình Thuận, besides visiting Dinh Thầy Thím, tourists can explore the breathtaking landscape at Ngảnh Tam Tân, where white and brown birds perch on giant rock formations!
Discovering Bình Thuận: Experience the Wonders of Ngảnh Tam Tân with Chimney Rock
Ngảnh Tam Tân is a picturesque coastal area located in Tân Tiến commune, approximately 12km from downtown La Gi. About 50m offshore, a cluster of rocky outcrops emerges, blending harmoniously with the waves. This area is also closely associated with the historical site of Dốc Ông Bằng, where the first Communist Party branch of Bình Thuận was established in 1931.

Long ago, these rock formations extended from the mainland into the sea, but over time, tidal erosion separated the rocks, creating the jagged coastline. The colossal rocks protrude from the water like sea creatures reaching out to the ocean. When the tide recedes, birds often flock to perch on the sun-drenched rocks. Hence, locals affectionately refer to this place as Chimney Rock.

These soulful rock creatures serve as natural barriers, calming the waves and shielding the beach for generations. The rocks undergo mesmerizing color changes throughout the day, leaving observers in awe. Above the chimney rocks lies a long stretch of pristine white sand extending into the sea, bordered by lush casuarina and coconut groves spanning nearly 2,000m.

Apart from renowned tourist spots like Chimney Rock Resort, locals have also constructed budget accommodations and guesthouses, where visitors can hang hammocks and admire the seascape while observing flocks of birds dancing on the jet-black rocks. In the early morning, tourists can join local fishermen in pulling nets or indulge in freshly grilled seafood on the sandy shores.

Ngảnh Tam Tân, akin to a glistening emerald on the shores of Lagi. The stretches of white sand spill into the azure sea, embraced by coconut groves, casuarina forests, and rocky outcrops where seabirds roost at sunset... All contribute to the majestic and surreal landscape of Ngảnh Tam Tân, captivating every visitor, particularly during the annual Dinh Thầy Thím festival in September.
