3. “Ao no Sumika” by Tatsuya Kitani
The acclaimed manga 'Jujutsu Kaisen' (written by Gege Akutami), serialized in 'Weekly Shonen Jump' by Shueisha, has sold over 70 million copies.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, receiving enthusiastic acclaim not only in Japan but globally, generating massive revenue of 26.5 billion yen. It sparked a significant trend.
The long-awaited second season of the TV anime is set to premiere on 28 MBS/TBS stations nationwide from 23:56 every Thursday starting July 6. In anticipation of the second season, details about the opening and ending songs by Kaidama/Tamaori have been announced.
Aside from his role as a singer-songwriter, the opening theme has become a hot topic by providing songs for various artists such as Ado and Mafumafura. The chosen one is Tatsuya Kitani's “Ao no Sumika”!
Jujutsu Kaisen is considered MAPPA's 'darling' as the anime not only invests in visuals but also meticulously crafts the sound. While not becoming a global phenomenon like Idol, Ao no Sumika by Tatsuya Kitani has received high praise from audiences, leaving an impression even more significant than the opening of the first season.

Heaven Delusion is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masakazu Ishiguro. It has been serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine, Monthly Afternoon, since January 2018. An anime television series adaptation produced by Production I.G aired from April to June 2023.
Heavenly Delusion can be seen as a dark horse anime released in 2023, and the success of the work is partly related to its opening song. With an energetic yet haunting melody, even without watching the show, the audience can anticipate that Heavenly Delusion will be a story with depth and a touch of tragedy (similar to what the opening of Tokyo Ghoul achieved).
