It Takes Two now features a Vietnamese language edition.
The Game Awards 2021, the biggest event in the global gaming industry, took place in early December with a major surprise at this year's ceremony. For the first time ever, a platform game has clinched the 'Game of the Year' title. The spotlight shines on It Takes Two, an adventure-action-platformer published by Electronic Arts.

Developed by Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios, the minds behind A Way Out, It Takes Two is an impressive-looking game entirely built around split-screen co-op gameplay. Players take control of Cody and May – a couple turned into dolls. With the help of a magical book named Dr. Hakim, both must cooperate to return to the real world.
The two main characters in It Takes Two are Cody and May, a married couple contemplating divorce. Cody argues with May about her constant work, accusing her of neglecting the family, while May counters that Cody never supports her work or appreciates it. After telling Rose (their daughter) about their intention to divorce, Rose runs away with the handmade dolls resembling her parents, bringing them to the family's attic. Rose tries to mend her parents' relationship by having the dolls perform a play.

Something peculiar happens. Cody and May find themselves trapped inside the dolls, caused by a tear shed by their daughter landing on the dolls by chance. In dire circumstances, Cody and May must journey together not only to overcome unique challenges but also to mend their marriage. From here, an exciting adventure unfolds, immersing players in the tightly woven and captivating narrative of the game.

If you've ever played A Way Out or, more recently, It Takes Two, you'll certainly notice that co-op games developed by Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios heavily focus on the emotional relationship between the couple Cody and May and their daughter Rose. Particularly, the game features numerous dialogues and a plethora of different puzzles throughout the gameplay. If players don't pay close attention to reading the English dialogues, they'll find It Takes Two quite challenging.

Perhaps that's why a group of gamers initiated a Vietnamese localization project for It Takes Two, celebrating the game's Game of the Year award at The Game Awards 2021. Through the website gametiengviet.com, after investing a considerable amount of effort in translating every dialogue in the game, the group of gamers successfully completed the Vietnamese localization of It Takes Two on December 20th.
