After Peanut, it's highly likely Gen.G will announce Chovy as Bdd's mid lane replacement.
Recent LCK transfers have captivated the Korean LoL community and the global stage. Alongside Faker's groundbreaking contract and the Canna - T1 drama, names like Chovy, ShowMaker, TheShy... have stirred immense interest among LoL enthusiasts worldwide. It's been a long time since such a vibrant transfer window, packed with blockbuster deals, intriguing rumors, and enough drama to rival the end of the 2021 season.
Recently, it's Gen.G Esports' turn, also one of the top 3 strongest LCK teams in the LoL world, to unveil their transfer deals. Specifically, the team that made it to the top 4 of Worlds 2021 has executed a player exchange with Nongshim RedForce. Bdd will now play for NS in the mid lane, previously held by Gori. Meanwhile, former SKT T1 star Peanut will shift to Gen.G's jungle role. Interestingly, both Bdd and Peanut will fill the slots of former SKT T1 members (Gori and Clid) left vacant in this transfer window. As for Peanut, he'll have the chance to return to his former Gen.G colors (Peanut played for Gen.G from the end of the 2018 season until the end of the 2019 season).
Additionally, beneath Gen.G's post regarding the Bdd for Peanut exchange, FionnOnFire - Upcomer's journalist - hinted at a familiar figure joining Gen.G to replace Bdd. The person alluded to by FionnOnFire is none other than the 'golden backbone' Chovy.
Not long ago, rumors of Chovy joining Gen.G surfaced in the Korean media. According to this, Gen.G's lineup for the 2022 season will feature some fresh faces: Doran - Peanut - Chovy - Ruler - Lehends. Only Ruler will be retained while the rest will be newcomers. Notably, if the rumored lineup holds true, aside from Tarzan and Viper, 3 out of 5 names from the former Griffin lineup will reunite under the Gen.G banner (Doran, Chovy, Lehends).
Certainly, at present, Gen.G has only just confirmed the Peanut deal while Chovy, Doran, Lehends remain free agents. However, the transfer market still has some time before closing, and fans can eagerly anticipate the reunion of former GRF stars in new jerseys.
