The bar chart illustrates the preferred modes of transportation for commuting among young people in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and France.
Generally, automobiles are the favored mode of transport among young people in these countries, except in Germany, where a significant number of youths opt for bicycles.
Based on the chart, three-quarters of French teenagers drive cars, while nearly 15% prefer bicycles. The majority of young Americans commute by car, with half of them also using motorcycles. In the United Kingdom, approximately one-third of youths cycle, while half choose cars.
Moreover, the preferences of German youth differ notably from their counterparts in other nations, with around 45% favoring bicycles over cars (40%). The proportion of young motorcycle riders is similar in France and the United Kingdom (about 10%), but notably higher in Germany (approximately 15%).

IELTS Writing Task 2
Task 2: Some think that people should not change their jobs while others think they should because it brings advantages for themselves, the company and society. Discuss both views and give your opinion. |
Sample
Many individuals believe they should work for the same company throughout their lives, while others argue for job variety. This essay examines both perspectives and argues why the latter is, in my opinion, more advantageous.
On one hand, proponents of long-term employment argue that familiarity breeds ease of work. Essentially, after years with one employer, tasks become second nature because everyone knows them. For instance, a relative has remained with a financial firm for over 25 years due to contentment. Consequently, many, especially the elderly, resist career changes, satisfied in their current roles.
Critics of this viewpoint argue that individuals should have the flexibility to change jobs whenever they wish, allowing them to transition to different fields based on their preferences. Moreover, job variety not only enhances personal happiness but also facilitates gaining new experiences and broadening skills. Recent research indicates that a significant number of employees are leaving their jobs to pursue career advancements. Therefore, nowadays, young people opt to switch jobs to progress in their careers and accumulate wealth.
In summary, while maintaining the same career brings joy to those resistant to change, frequent job changers have higher chances of advancing. Hence, I firmly believe that diversity should be embraced in one's career journey.
