Specifically, in a blog post, Google has confirmed the addition of the image translation feature to Google Translate on the web. With this new feature, users can not only translate online images but also use Google Lens to upload and translate text in images stored on their computers.
Google Translate adds the capability to translate images for the web version
When accessing Google Translate on the web, you'll notice a new option at the top called Images. Click on it, then choose the image you want to translate. However, please note that this feature doesn't support drag-and-drop functionality, so you can't directly drag images into the browser window for translation.
After uploading the image, you can select the language from a list of 113 source languages that you want to translate the text in the image. Additionally, there's an option to copy or download the translated text, or choose to display the original text for comparison side by side with the translated text on two images.
In the future, Google is expected to update with additional features such as listening to the translated text or manually selecting and copying a specific portion of the translated text from images for Google Translate web version.
