Quick Guide to Nepal Visa Application in 15 Minutes
If you've ever dreamt of stepping into the land of Buddha, Nepal, and witnessing the legendary towering peaks of the Himalayas, don't hesitate any longer, especially when it comes to visa procedures. Getting a visa for Nepal is incredibly easy for tourists, and you can complete the process quickly right at the immigration entrance of Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital city Kathmandu through the visa on arrival service.

There are two ways for you to obtain a visa to Nepal: applying at the airport or applying online;
Option 1: Apply directly at the airport (visa on arrival)
Essential Preparation Procedures Include
– Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months
– Complete the Nepal visa application form (available at Kathmandu airport immigration)
– Provide one (01) passport-sized photo (4×6) with a white background. If you don't have a photo, there's a quick photo service at the airport for 200 Nepalese Rupees
– Present round-trip air ticket, insurance, and hotel booking confirmation if required
Note that Nepal does not grant visas at the border for citizens of the following countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria. Please be aware if you have friends traveling with you from these countries.

Cost and Duration
– After completing the immigration form and paying the fee, you will quickly be issued a visa in just 5-10 minutes, available for single or multiple entries based on your needs.
– Visa fees for 15 days are 25 USD, 30 days cost 40 USD, and 90 days are priced at 100 USD.
Additionally, you can extend your visa for up to 150 days at the Immigration Office in Kathmandu or Pokhara. The extension fee for 15 days is 30 USD, plus an additional 2 USD per day for subsequent days. You'll need to bring your passport, extension fee, one photo, and an extension form to complete the process.
The preferred currency for fee payment is USD, but you can also pay in EUR, CHF, GBP, AUD, CAD, HKD, SGD, JPY.
Option 2: Apply for Visa Online
Since 2014, you also have the option to apply for a visa online within 15 days before arriving in Nepal. Simply fill in your hotel address, upload a passport photo, submit the form, print the receipt, bring it to the airport along with your passport and visa fee to save waiting time in queues.

Important Notes
– Carry 4-5 passport-sized photos for visa registration and mountain climbing permits, and other necessary procedures.
– Make a few photocopies of your passport for convenience during travel, as a precaution in case of passport loss in a foreign land.
– Kathmandu airport has currency exchange counters, but it's advisable to exchange only a small amount for taxi fares. Money exchange in Thamel, the center of Kathmandu, offers better rates.
