While processing data on a computer, accidental deletion or formatting of data on a USB drive or external hard drive is inevitable. 2. How to Use iMyFone AnyRecover to Recover Deleted Files from USB/External Hard Drive
After downloading the AnyRecover software to your computer, proceed with the installation to use the software and recover data.
Step 1: At the main interface of the iMyFone AnyRecover software, the system has divided all storage drives into various groups such as:
- Common Location: Shared drive
- Hard Disk Drives: Internal hard drives
- External Removable Devices: External drives (Portable hard drives/USB)
- I can’t find my partitions: Unrecognized partitions
- Computer Crash Recovery: Computer crash recovery
- Virtual Disk Drives: Virtual drives
- Specify a location: Select a location
In this scenario, we will focus on recovering data from USB/external hard drives, so we will only be concerned with the External Removable Devices section.
Step 2: If you have connected a USB/external hard drive to your computer but it does not appear in the system, select the Refresh option to update the list of connected devices.
Step 3: To begin scanning for the data to recover, select the external hard drive/USB where the data is to be searched (1) and click Start (2) to initiate the process.
Step 4: During the data scanning process on the USB/external hard drive, the AnyRecover software will display the number of files scanned and the total size of successfully scanned files.
Step 5: For external hard drives/USB drives with large capacities, the scanning process will take longer. In this article, Mytour used a 32GB USB, and the total data scanning time was approximately 15 minutes.
Step 6: Upon successful completion of the data scan for recovery, you will receive a Scan completed window. Simply press OK to finish.

Step 10: Upon successful data recovery, you'll receive a window stating Congratulations! Files Recovery completed!
Step 11: Finally, just open the folder recovered by AnyRecover and check your documents.
