This guide explains how to block specific content on YouTube by adding keywords to the ″Blocked Words″ list. This functionality enables you to filter out unwanted terms in video comments, providing an effective way to prevent inappropriate or spam comments. You can review blocked comments and decide whether to keep or remove them.
Steps
Add words to the block list

Visit https://www.youtube.com using your browser. Your YouTube account is usually logged in automatically.
- If your YouTube account doesn't log in automatically, click Sign In at the top right corner, then log in using your YouTube/Google email address and password.

Click on your profile picture. This option is located at the top right corner of the page. The account menu will immediately appear on the screen.
- If you haven't added a profile picture to your YouTube account, the placeholder will display the first letter of your name.

Click on YouTube Studio. This option is near the top of the menu. The YouTube Studio page will then load.

Click on Community (Community). This option is at the bottom of the Settings menu. The Community Settings section will then appear.

Scroll down to "Blocked Words" (Blocked Words). This is the last box in the Community Settings menu.

Enter the words or phrases you want to block. Type the terms you wish to block into the box below "Blocked Words". You can add multiple words or phrases as needed. Use commas (,) to separate each term.
- Additionally, you can check the "Block Links" box below the blocked words list. This will hold comments containing links for your review and approval.

Click on Save (Save). This action saves all changes made to the settings, including the blocked words you've added. Comments containing blocked terms will be held for review.
