Boiling eggs can turn a basic ingredient into a delightful meal. However, using a pot to boil eggs can be quite a hassle. Instead, you can use a microwave to effortlessly boil eggs and prepare a tasty dish.

Prepare the Ingredients

Prepare a microwave-safe cup and lid. Most plastic, glass, ceramic, or cups and lids designed for microwaves will have a label that says "microwave safe" at the bottom. Use cups and lids with this label. Avoid using metal or foil items in the microwave.
Pour ½ cup of water into the microwave-safe cup. Use a measuring cup to measure ½ cup of water. Pour the water into the cup.
Crack the egg into the cup. Gently tap the edge of the cup once or twice to break the shell, being careful not to break the yolk. Separate the shell and pour the egg into the cup with water.

Ensure the egg is completely submerged in the water. If the egg is not fully covered, use a measuring cup to add ¼ cup of water into the cup.
Boil the Eggs
Boil the egg at high temperature for about one minute. Place the cup in the microwave, cover it with the lid, and then close the microwave door. Set the temperature to high and cook for about one minute.
Make sure the egg is fully cooked before serving. Open the microwave door and carefully remove the lid. The egg whites should be set, but the yolk may still be soft. If the whites are still runny after one minute, close the door and cook for an additional 15 seconds. Check the egg again to ensure the whites are firm.
Use a spoon to lift the egg onto a plate. After cooking, carefully remove the lid and take the cup out of the microwave. Use a slotted spoon to lift the egg onto a plate or bowl.

Sprinkle salt and pepper to season the egg. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to your boiled egg. Now you’re ready to enjoy your meal.
