Amazon’s October Prime Day sale kicks off on October 8—however, staying updated on the best upcoming discounts and determining which offers are worth it can be overwhelming. Instead, you can let Alexa notify you about deals on items you’re already interested in, saving you the hassle of sifting through countless promotions.
Amazon Prime members in the U.S. with Echo smart speakers can activate deal alerts to get notified 24 hours before discounts become active. Alexa can even handle the purchase process for you. Here’s a step-by-step guide to setting it up.
Steps to Enable Alexa Deal Notifications
To begin, launch the Amazon Shopping app or access Amazon’s website through a browser. Add the products you want alerts for to your Wish List, Shopping Cart, or Saved for Later list.
Next, open the Alexa mobile app and navigate to More > Settings > Notifications > Amazon Shopping. Enable Deal Recommendations under the Shopping Recommendations section to ensure you’re notified about deals related to your shopping activity.
When Alexa identifies an upcoming deal on items in your Saved for Later, Wish List, or Shopping Cart, you’ll get a pop-up alert on your Echo Show or see a yellow light ring on your Echo speaker. You can also ask, “Alexa, what are my notifications?” to hear a summary of the deals it has found.
Alexa can identify deals up to 24 hours ahead of time. You can ask it to remind you when the deal starts or instruct it to purchase the item automatically when the discount becomes active. Just say, “Alexa, buy it for me,” and it will use your default payment method and shipping address to complete the order.
