Today, Mytour will guide you on how to connect your PlayStation 4 console to your computer using Sony's Remote Play app. After connecting your DualShock 4 controller to your laptop with a USB cable, you can use Remote Play to enjoy your PlayStation games on your computer screen.
Steps
Visit the official PlayStation website using your browser to download Remote Play. Remote Play is a free app from Sony that allows you to link your PlayStation 4 to a Windows or macOS computer.
- For optimal performance, it's recommended to use an Internet connection with a minimum upload and download speed of 15mb/s when using the Remote Play app on your laptop.
Click on Windows PC or Mac. The installer will be downloaded to your computer.
Double-click the installer file and follow the instructions. By default, the file you just downloaded will be in the "Downloads" folder or in your web browser's download section. Double-click the file to begin the installation process.
- During installation, you will need to select a language and agree to the terms of service.
Launch PS4 Remote Play. The app has a green icon with the DualShock controller symbol. You can find PS4 Remote Play in the Windows Start menu or in the Applications folder on your Mac.
Connect the DualShock 4 controller to your computer. You can do this by connecting one end of the USB cable to the controller and the other end to an available USB port on your computer.
Press the Options button on the controller. This button is located to the right of the touchpad.
Sign in to your PlayStation Network account. Enter the email address and password linked to your PlayStation Network account into the PS4 Remote Play app, then click Sign In.
- If you don’t have a PlayStation Network account, click Create an Account and follow the instructions to set up a new account.
Enter the PS4 passcode (if set). If you have set a passcode for your PlayStation account, you will need to use the controller to enter it. Once logged in, you'll be able to play PS4 games remotely on your laptop via the PS4 Remote Play app.
