Are you facing the terrifying night in Minecraft, where Mobs (short for Monsters) are lurking, ready to harm you? In this case, a bed will be a helpful item if you don't want to endure the darkness and wish to speed up the arrival of daylight. Keep reading to learn how to craft this essential item.
Steps

Craft Wooden Planks. Go to the Workbench and create Wooden Planks by placing Wood in any of the crafting grid slots. This will give you Wooden Planks.
- Wood is obtained by chopping down trees. You can use an axe for this, but simply punching the tree will also drop wood.

Place Wool in the Crafting Grid. Place 3 Wool horizontally in the middle row of the crafting grid.
- Wool can be gathered by shearing sheep or killing them. To shear sheep (without killing them), you'll need shears, which are made by combining two iron ingots. Shearing gives more wool than killing the sheep.

Place the planks in the crafting grid. After finishing with the wool, place 3 Wooden Planks in the bottom row of the crafting grid.

Retrieve the bed from the crafting box.
The result of the crafting process is, of course, the bed. Click on the bed and move it to your inventory or hot-bar.
- Keep in mind that the color of the bed cannot be changed no matter the wool color. The only way to alter the color is by modifying the game settings.

Place the bed wherever you want it to work. Put the bed inside a house (or somewhere safe) and sleep peacefully. This will create a new spawn point for you, meaning you'll respawn next to the bed after dying.
Tips
- It’s best to craft the bed during the day.
- Place the bed in a Safe location.
- Can't find any sheep? You can create wool from string.
Warning
- Make sure no Mobs (living entities) are nearby your bed, as this will prevent you from sleeping.
- If you attempt to sleep in the Nether, the bed will explode.
