- Possess an international Visa or Mastercard debit/credit card from recognized banks. This Visa/Mastercard will be used to verify your account and link your Card to your Paypal account.

- Have an active email account. With Paypal, your email address will be your primary account for receiving money and making online payments. Therefore, you should use a domain-specific email or, if using a free email address (e.g., gmail), enable two-step verification to prevent hacking.

Note: In addition to using physical Visa/Mastercard cards, you can also register and link your Paypal account with virtual Visa/Mastercard cards. However, these cards are not very common and are issued by only a few banks. You should consider carefully before using them.

II. Creating a PayPal Account

1. Signing up for a PayPal Account 

Step 1: Visit the PayPal website in Vietnam, click on 'sign up' at the top right corner of the screen. You can also directly access the PayPal registration link Here.

Step 2: Choose the type of account you want to create (personal/business account). Both types of accounts are free to open. Since most Mytour users are individuals, we will select to open a personal account here. Then click 'Next'

Step 3: In the account type selection section, click on the arrow to view and choose the appropriate account type, then click 'Next'

Step 4:  Enter the mobile phone number you are using, then click 'Next'

Step 5: Enter the confirmation code sent by PayPal to your mobile phone.

Step 6: Upon successful phone number verification, you will receive an email address, middle name, password, then click 'Next'

Step 7: In the additional personal information section, you need to enter complete personal information, including nationality, date of birth, ID card/passport/driving license number, address,... Then, activate One Touch (maintain login status and no need to enter password each time shopping on PayPal) and confirm the user terms and privacy statement from PayPal. Finally, click 'agree and create account'. Specifically:

- Date of birth: Enter in the format dd/mm/yyyy, i.e., day/month/year.
- ID card/driving license/passport: Enter your ID card number.
- Address 1, Address 2: Enter the address where you currently reside.
- Zip Code: postal code of your current residence (Hanoi's Zip code is 100000)

Step 8: The screen displays successful account registration.

2. Confirming PayPal Account

After registration, your PayPal account needs to be confirmed before it can be used. The confirmation process will proceed as follows:

Step 1: Open the Email you used to register for a PayPal account. Click on the email from [email protected] and select 'confirm my email address' to confirm the registered PayPal account.

Step 2: Enter the password you just created for PayPal to confirm your email.

Step 3: Choose the payment method (via debit card, credit card, or bank account). Here, Mytour chooses to link via debit/credit card.

Step 4: Enter the details of your credit or debit card, choose the card type (Visa/Mastercard), expiry date on the card, CSC security code at the back of the card, then click 'link card'

- Card number: The number printed on the front of the card (16 digits)
- Expiry date: The month & year of card expiry, also printed on the front of the card.
- CVV number: Flip the card to the back to find the 3-digit CVV number located on the outer edge of the card.

Step 5: The linking process with PayPal is successful. You can log in to PayPal using the username and password you created and proceed with transactions such as transfers/receipts/withdrawals.
