Have you ever wondered how to create your own email account? Every day, thousands of emails are sent around the world, and many online applications wouldn't function without an email address. With this guide, you can easily follow simple steps to quickly create your email account.
Steps
Create an Email Account

Visit a website that provides email services. Some well-known websites like yahoo.com, google.com, and hotmail.com offer free, unlimited email services.

Find a place where you can register. Although you'll need to go to the login page to search, typically there will be an image or a small text link directing you to the “register” or “sign up” section on the website.
- Type "free email account" into an online search engine along with your chosen website. Click on the appropriate link, which will usually take you to the email account setup page you need.

Follow all the instructions on the website and provide the required information. In some cases, you might feel uncomfortable providing certain details. Don't worry, most email accounts do not require information such as phone numbers or specific addresses, so you can skip those fields if needed.

Read the service agreement and click the box indicating that you agree to the email system's terms and conditions. Once finished, click the Submit button or press Enter at the bottom of the screen.

Congratulations! You've successfully created an email account. Now, go ahead and add your contacts, message your friends, or write emails and more.
Collect Contacts

Inform your friends and family about your new email address, gather their contact details, and add them to your address book.
Note that nowadays, many email accounts automatically update your contacts when you send or receive emails from an individual or organization.
- To display your contacts, look for the contacts tab, or simply type the first name or last name of the person you're looking for, or even the beginning of their email address. The contact and email information will appear for you automatically.
- Typically, to send an email to someone, you don't need to 'save' them as a contact.

Import your contacts when changing email addresses. Go to the Contacts tab and locate the import button, then follow the instructions. This is usually as simple as dragging and dropping a .CSV file into your browser window.
Send Email

After logging into your email account, locate the 'Compose' button. This button is usually a different color and easy to find.

Type the email address of the person you wish to send an email to. If you don't remember, but have previously emailed them, as you start typing their name, your account might recognize the saved email address.
- If you want to send a copy of the email to someone else, use 'CC', short for 'carbon copy'.
- If you want to send a copy to someone without the primary recipient knowing, use 'BCC', short for 'blind carbon copy'.

Don't forget the subject of the email. The subject reflects the content or the question the email addresses.

Enter your message, or the body of the email. This section contains the content you wish to communicate or explain to the recipient.

After reviewing for errors, click 'Send'. Double-check to ensure the contact email address is correct and that there are no spelling or formatting mistakes in your email. Once verified, send your email.
