1. Why should you disable the link between Instagram and Facebook?

Many people dislike linking their Facebook and Instagram accounts due to work-related reasons of sharing personal accounts. To avoid information leaks or accidental logins, you should unlink your Instagram and Facebook accounts.
META supports users in unlinking their Instagram and Facebook accounts to create two independent accounts. This action does not impact personal data or other issues on the accounts. If you dislike the synchronization between accounts, you can completely disable the link between them.
When unlinking your Instagram and Facebook accounts, you should consider the following issues:
- Your Facebook account won't be able to log in to Instagram and vice versa.
- When posting a Story on Instagram, it won't be shared on Facebook and vice versa.

2. How to disable and unlink your Instagram account from Facebook
Step 2: Next, choose the Account Center and select Accounts to access the management of your accounts on the META network.
Step 3: In the META Account section, you will see all the information about accounts linked together, including Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Now, choose the accounts you want to unlink and click Continue.
Note:
- After unlinking, you cannot log in between accounts from a parent account.
- You can't share news and posts between accounts after unlinking.
Step 4: When removing your Instagram and Facebook accounts, the system will send you various notifications about the removal process. Read them carefully to avoid mistakes.
Choose the Remove Account ➞ Yes, Remove Account ➞ OK to complete the removal of the Instagram account linked to the previous Facebook account.
