Steps
How to Modify a Caption on TikTok

Open the video you wish to edit. If you’ve made an error in your caption or just want to update your text, TikTok now lets you edit captions even after posting.
- You can only edit the caption within 7 days of posting the video.
- You can only make one edit to your caption each day.

Tap the three dots ••• . You’ll find this at the bottom-right corner of your video.

Scroll to the right and tap Edit post. This option appears toward the bottom of the screen in the menu and opens an editor that lets you modify various aspects of your TikTok post after it's been uploaded.

Edit your caption and tap Save. Besides the caption, you can also update hashtags, mentions, your location, and even the cover image.
Why can't I change captions on TikTok?

The "Edit post" feature is only available within 7 days of posting your content. If you don't see the "Edit post" option after clicking the three dots on your video, this could be the reason why.

If you’ve already made an edit today, you won’t be able to edit again. Each post can only be edited once per day, including captions, cover images, and other modifiable content.

The post might be too recent. If you’ve just uploaded a video, the caption edit option might not show up until the video has been fully processed by TikTok. Wait a moment for TikTok to finish processing and try again shortly.

You may need to update your app. If it’s been a while since you updated TikTok on your Android, iPhone, or iPad, check for available updates to ensure you have the "Edit post" feature.
