Since the Cambridge Analytica data scandal, Facebook has implemented several changes to how information related to others is searched on the platform. Although you can no longer use third-party search tools like StalkScan or the built-in search bar to find someone's comments, you can still find comments from others on your own posts. This article will guide you on how to locate comments from your friends on your Facebook posts, as well as how to search for someone's comment among countless others on a post.
Steps
Find comments from your friends on your posts (on a computer)

Log in to https://www.facebook.com from your web browser. You can use the 'See Friendship' feature to view a page displaying all the posts and comments shared between you and a specific friend.

Go to the personal Facebook page of a friend. You can do this by searching their name in the search bar at the top of the page.
Click on the three-dot menu ••• on their cover photo, located at the top of their profile page, to open a menu.

Click on See Friendship in the menu. This action will display a page listing posts and comments shared between you and that friend, including the comments they've made.
Find comments from your friends on your posts (on mobile)

Open the Facebook app on your phone or tablet. It is the blue icon with a white "f" that typically appears on your home screen or in your app drawer. You can use the 'See Friendship' feature to view a page containing all posts and comments between you and a specific friend.

Visit the personal page of one of your friends. You can find friends by tapping the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen and typing their name.

Tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper-right corner. This could either be a horizontal or vertical ellipsis, depending on the version you're using.
Tap on 'See Friendship'. This will bring up a page showing posts and comments from both your profile and your friend's profile, including the comments they've posted.
Find your friend's comment on posts with many comments.

Log in to https://www.facebook.com from a web browser. If you want to find a friend's comment on a photo or post, you must log into your Facebook account first.
- This method won't work with the Facebook app on iPhone or iPad, but you can still log in via a browser on your phone or tablet.

Scroll down to the post where you want to find the comment. If you can't see your friends' names and comments under the post, they might be buried among numerous other comments. It's also possible that the comments have been filtered to only show the most recent or popular ones.
- The number of comments is usually displayed under the post.
- The number of replies to a comment is often shown next to it. Replies are displayed in a thread, so responses to a comment will appear below it, not under the original post.

Click on 'View x Comments' above the first comment. The 'x' represents the number of hidden comments (or 'Previous' if there are many comments). Click this link to reveal the hidden comments.
- If you see 'Most Relevant' at the top of the comments list, click on it and select All Comments.
- If you still see the 'View previous comments' link above the first comment, this means you'll need to click it again to reveal more comments. You may need to click this button multiple times until all comments are visible.
- To see all replies related to a comment, click on x Replies below that comment. For example, if a comment has 2 replies, it will show 2 Replies.

Press Ctrl+F (on Windows) or ⌘ Cmd+F (on Mac) to open the Find window. This will open a smaller window allowing you to search for specific content on the page.
- On mobile or tablet, you will need to enable the Find feature in the browser:
- Safari on iPhone/iPad: Swipe down gently to see the selection bar at the bottom of the screen, then tap the Share icon (square with an arrow pointing up). Swipe left on the icon row and select Find on Page.
- Chrome: Tap the three-dot menu and select Find in Page....

Type the first name and/or last name of a friend. This search method will give you precise results, so be sure to enter multiple adjacent characters.
- For example, if you're looking for a comment from someone named Megan Lopez, type Megan Lopez in the Find box.
- Entering megan will display comments from anyone named Megan.

Use the arrows in the Find window to navigate through the results. Clicking the down arrow in the Find window will take you to the first search result on the page. Clicking it again will bring you to the next result. Continue clicking until you've reviewed all the search results.
