This article will guide you on how to use your browser on a computer to search for people you wish to connect with in any particular city.
Steps
Open Facebook in your browser. Type www.facebook.com into your browser's address bar and press the ↵ Enter key on your keyboard. Facebook's News Feed page will appear.
- If you are not logged in, you will need to enter your email address or phone number and password to access your account.
Click on your name. This button is located next to the Home button in the upper-right corner of the browser screen. You will be taken to your profile page.
- Alternatively, you can click on your full name in the navigation menu at the top-left corner of your News Feed.
Click on the Friends tab (Friends). This tab is positioned between the About (About) and Photos (Photos) tabs, located beneath the cover photo. Your entire list of friends will be displayed here.
Click on the +Find Friends button (Find Friends). This button can be found above the Search for your friends box in the top-right corner of your friends list. Clicking it will open a list of names and profile pictures of people you might know and want to add as friends.
- If you have any pending friend requests, you will see a list of them in the suggestions of people you may know.
Locate the 'Current City' section (Current City) in the Search for Friends box. This box is on the right side of the screen. You can use a variety of filters in the 'People You May Know' list, such as name, hometown, workplace, and current city.
Select a city under the 'Current City' section (Current City). You will click on the box next to the city you want to choose. This action will filter the 'People You May Know' list to only display those who live in the selected city.
- Alternatively, you can click into the text field under the list and type the name of any city. You can then enter and select a city to filter and search for people.
