How to Open a Zip File

Today, Mytour will guide you on how to open and extract a ZIP folder on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. ZIP folders are used to compress files into a lighter version to help with storage and transfer. To view and use the files in the ZIP folder in the appropriate format, you need to extract (or 'unzip') the ZIP folder into a regular folder.

Navigate to the ZIP folder. Go to the location where the ZIP folder you want to open is stored.

Double-click the ZIP folder. The ZIP folder will open, displaying its contents inside.

• If you only wish to view the contents compressed within the ZIP folder, you're all set at this point.
• The contents inside the ZIP folder may appear differently from when you extract them.

Click the Extract tab at the top of the window. The toolbar will appear at the top of the window.

Click Extract All. This option is located in the toolbar at the top of the window. When clicked, a new window will pop up.

Select a destination for extraction if necessary. By default, the ZIP folder will extract its contents to the same location (for example, if the ZIP folder is on your Desktop, the extracted folder will appear there as well). To extract the folder to a different location, follow these steps:

• Click Browse... located to the right of the text box in the window.
• Choose a folder.
• Click Select Folder at the bottom-right corner.

Check the box for "Show extracted files when complete". This option is located in the center of the window. This ensures that the extracted contents of the ZIP folder will automatically appear once the extraction process is complete.

Click on the Extract button at the bottom of the window. The files within the ZIP folder will be extracted into a regular folder. Once the process is complete, the extracted folder will open and display its contents.

Navigate to the ZIP folder. Go to the location where the ZIP folder you wish to open is stored.

Move the ZIP folder if necessary. The contents of the ZIP folder will automatically extract to the same location. To copy the ZIP folder to another location, do the following:

• Click on the ZIP folder to select it.
• Click on Edit at the top of the screen.
• Select Copy from the dropdown menu.
• Navigate to the desired location for the extracted folder.
• Click Edit again and choose Paste from the dropdown menu.

Double-click the ZIP folder. The ZIP folder will begin extracting its contents into a regular folder at its current location.

Wait for the extracted folder to appear. Once the ZIP folder is successfully unzipped, the extracted folder will typically open and display the files.

Nhấn vào thư mục được giải nén. Thư mục được giải nén có màu vàng và cùng tên với tập tin ZIP ban đầu. Sau khi bạn nhấn vào, thư mục mới này sẽ mở ra cùng với các tập tin mà trước đây được nén trong thư mục ZIP.

Mở WinZip. Nhấn vào OPEN (Mở) trên trang WinZip, hoặc biểu tượng ứng dụng WinZip nằm trong App Drawer của thiết bị Android.

Nhấn vào ALLOW (Cho phép) khi được nhắc. WinZip sẽ có thể truy cập hệ thống tập tin trên thiết bị Android.

Select the default storage. Depending on where the ZIP folder is located on your Android device, you may need to tap on Internal or SD card.

Open the folder containing the ZIP file. Navigate to the folder where you saved the ZIP file.

• You may need to scroll down to find the correct folder.

Select the ZIP folder. Locate the ZIP folder in the current location, then check the box next to the file name to select it.

Tap the "Unzip" button with the box and zipper icon at the top, just to the left of the checkbox. A menu will appear.

Choose the location where you want to save the extracted folder. Tap on Storage, then select your desired storage location (e.g., Internal) and choose the folder where you want to extract the ZIP file.

Click on UNZIP HERE (Unzip here). This option is located at the bottom of the screen. Files from the ZIP folder will be extracted into the chosen directory, allowing you to open them immediately after extraction.

• Feel free to delete the ZIP folder after the extraction is completed.

• Although you can view and open the contents of a ZIP folder before extracting it, some files may not display correctly or may be incomplete until fully extracted.
