Today, Mytour will show you how to change the birthdate linked to your Xbox LIVE account. This can only be done if your Xbox LIVE account is connected to a Microsoft account. If you registered your Xbox LIVE account with another type of account, you won’t be able to change your age. If your current account is under 18, you will need to create a new Xbox LIVE account with a different birthdate in order to access M-rated games or rent certain movies/media.
Steps to Follow
Visit the Microsoft website. Go to https://www.microsoft.com to access Microsoft’s homepage. If you are already signed in, your name and profile picture (if set) will appear in the top-right corner of the page.
- If you're not signed in, click Sign in in the top-right corner, enter your email address, click Next, enter your password, and then click Sign in to continue.
Click your account name in the top-right corner. A drop-down menu will appear.
Click on View Microsoft account (View your Microsoft account). This option is located in the drop-down menu. Once clicked, the Microsoft account page will open.
Click on Your info (Your information). This tab is located on the left side of the blue bar at the top of the page. The current account information page will open.
Click on the Edit date of birth (Edit birthdate). This link is located to the right of your current birthdate. The edit page will open.
- You may be asked to re-enter your password before proceeding.
Edit your birthdate. In the "Birthdate" section at the top of the page, change the day, month, and year to reflect the age you want displayed on Xbox LIVE. Click on the current day, month, or year and select the new information from the drop-down menu.
Scroll down and click on Save (Save). This green button is located at the bottom of the page. Your age will now be updated based on the new birthdate.
Advice
- Xbox LIVE does not display the user's age to other members.
Warning
- If you change your age from over 18 to under 18, your account will no longer be able to access certain games and privileges according to Microsoft's policy.
