Uploading videos on Facebook is an excellent way to share personal moments or your favorite new videos with friends. You can upload videos using the Facebook website on your computer or through the mobile app. The video will appear as a post, and you can control the privacy settings to limit who can view it. However, it is not possible to upload videos using the mobile version of Facebook's website.
Steps
Use the Facebook App on Your Mobile Device

Tap on "What's on your mind?" to create a new post. All videos on Facebook are added as posts, so you'll need to create a new post to upload your video.

Tap the "Camera" button below the post creation field. Your most recent photo will appear on the screen.
- The first time you perform this action, Facebook will ask for permission to access your device's camera and storage.

Tap the video you want to upload. If you have multiple videos, you can select more than one. Tap "Done" to add the selected videos to your post. A preview of the video will appear in the new post.

Record a new video to upload to Facebook. Instead of selecting an existing video, you can record a new one right away. The process differs between iOS and Android:
- iOS - Tap the Camera button in the Facebook post, then tap the Camera button again in the upper left corner of your Camera Roll. Tap the Video Camera button in the lower right corner, then tap the record button to start recording. After recording, tap "Use" to add the video to your post.
- Android - Tap the Camera button in the post, then tap the Video Camera button with a "+" at the top of the screen. This opens your Android device’s video recording feature. Once recording is complete, the video will be added to the list of videos you can choose from.

Add a caption to your video. You can type a few lines to provide context for your video, helping viewers understand what they will be watching.

Choose the audience for your post. Tap the audience menu at the top to select who can view the video you've posted. If you want the video to be private, select "Only Me". The video will still appear on your timeline, but only you will be able to view it.

Tap "Post" to upload the video. Once you're happy with your post, tap "Post" to upload your video. This process will take longer if the video is of a longer duration.
- It's recommended to connect to a Wi-Fi network before posting the video to avoid using mobile data.
Using the Facebook Website

Click on the "Photos" option in the left-hand menu. You can find "Photos" in the Apps section of the menu.
- Ensure you're using the desktop version of the website, as uploading videos is not possible through the mobile version of Facebook’s website. If you're on a mobile device and want to upload a video to Facebook, use the Facebook mobile app.

Click on the "Add Video" button. This action opens the video upload tool.

Find the video by clicking on "Choose File". This action will open a file window where you can search for the video you want to upload from your computer. Facebook supports nearly all common video formats, including mp4, mov, mkv, avi, and wmv.
- The maximum video length is 120 minutes, and the file size limit is 4GB.

Add a title, description, and location. You can add this information using the fields below the file. These are optional fields, but they can help others find and understand your video better.

Select the audience for your video. Click the selection box next to the "Post" button to choose who can view your video. Select "Only Me" if you want the video to be visible only to you. In this case, the video will still be posted to your timeline, but only you will be able to view it.

Click "Post" and wait for the video to upload. Once uploaded, your video will be visible only to the audience you selected.
- All videos you upload to Facebook are posted on the News Feed. There's no way to upload a video without "posting" it, even if you're the only one who can see it.
- Longer videos take more time to upload and may need additional processing. Be sure to have a good network connection before uploading large video files.

Find your video in the Photos section on Facebook. You can view all the videos you've uploaded by opening the "Photos" app in the left menu.
- Click the "Albums" tab and select the "Videos" album to see all the videos you've uploaded.
Troubleshooting

Ensure your video does not exceed the maximum file size. Facebook only allows videos up to 4GB in size and 120 minutes in duration. Make sure your video meets these specifications if you're unable to upload it.

Make sure your video is in a supported format. Facebook accepts most popular video formats such as AVI, MOV, MP4, and MKV. If your video is not in one of these formats, you won't be able to upload it. You can convert your video to a compatible format to resolve this issue. Learning how to convert video formats is a useful skill.

Upload your video when you have a stable internet connection. Uploading videos can be challenging with a weak connection, especially on mobile devices. It's best to upload your video when connected to a strong Wi-Fi network.
- Since uploading videos takes time, especially for larger files, be prepared to wait longer during the upload process.
Tips
- You shouldn't rely on Facebook as a video storage service, as there’s no guarantee that older videos won’t be deleted over time or taken down if they violate Facebook’s terms.
