Due to an overwhelming number of tourists, the Indian government has decided to restrict the daily opening hours of Taj Mahal to only 3 hours.

As reported by the Times of India, this regulation is effective from April 1. Each day, the management of this tourist site will open the doors for just 3 hours to facilitate better security and order management.
The Archaeological Survey of India reveals that during peak days, the number of visitors to this famous monument reaches up to 50,000 people. Some visitors not only stay all day but linger from morning till evening.
The excessive number of tourists leads to issues like waste disposal, creating difficulties in maintaining security and preserving the monument.
An Indian official, interviewed by the Times of India, stated that the increasing number of visitors to the Taj Mahal is making it difficult to expand the space around the monument.
Keeping the Taj Mahal open all day encourages many visitors to linger, particularly on weekends, worsening the situation.
