Giant ferris wheels, along with skyscrapers, are gradually becoming tourist icons worldwide. Thus, the Sun Wheel Ferris Wheel is becoming a new symbol of tourism in Danang.
Commenced in May 2013, the Sun Group corporation is the investor and executor. With an impressive height of 115 meters, the Sun Wheel is currently among the TOP 10 highest and most beautiful Ferris wheels in the world. The Ferris wheel has 64 cabins, each accommodating 6 people, capable of carrying a maximum of 384 passengers per rotation, reaching a speed of 16 minutes per round.
Tickets for the giant Ferris wheel will be officially sold to local residents and tourists visiting Danang at 8:00 am on July 18th at the Sun Wheel representative office at 72 Nguyen Chi Thanh - Danang.
1. High Roller Ferris Wheel, Las Vegas
The High Roller Ferris Wheel in Las Vegas currently holds the record for height (167.6 m) with 28 cabins, each cabin accommodating 40 passengers. This means that 1,120 people can simultaneously enjoy the view of Las Vegas below. The High Roller wheel officially opened on March 31, 2014. Since then, it has maintained its position at the top of the list.

2. Singapore Flyer Ferris Wheel, Singapore
The Singapore Flyer Ferris Wheel is currently ranked second among the largest Ferris wheels in the world, with a height of 165 meters and a total of 28 cabins. Although fewer cabins, each one is equivalent in size to a large bus, accommodating up to 28 people and equipped with air conditioning. On average, each rotation of the Singapore Flyer takes about 30 minutes, gradually ascending passengers to a height of 165 meters to admire the scenery below.
The ticket price for each ride on the Ferris wheel is quite expensive at 29.5 Singapore dollars (approximately 490,000 VND).

3. Star of Namsan Ferris Wheel, China
The Star of Namsan Ferris Wheel stands 160 meters tall in the eastern city of Namsan, the capital of Jiangsu Province, China. The Star of Namsan has 60 cabins, all equipped with air conditioning, with each cabin accommodating 8 passengers. Similar to the Singapore Flyer, rotations take about 30 minutes.

4. The London Eye Ferris Wheel, England
The London Eye Ferris Wheel is the millennium icon of London, inaugurated on 31/12/1999, with a height of 135 meters, making it one of the twenty tallest structures in London. The London Eye has a total of 32 cabins, each accommodating 24 people. From the top of the Ferris wheel, visitors can catch sight of familiar landmarks of the capital city such as Westminster Palace, Big Ben clock tower, the historic Tower Bridge, and the beautiful, serene Thames River.

5. Beijing Great Wheel Ferris Wheel, China
The Beijing Great Wheel Ferris Wheel is constructed in the capital city of Beijing, a pride of this most populous country in the world. The design cost of the Beijing Great Wheel is approximately 291 million USD. The Ferris wheel has a diameter of 198 meters and a height of 208 meters, with 48 cabins all equipped with air conditioning and capable of carrying 40 people.

6. Tian Tan Eye Ferris Wheel, China
The Tian Tan Eye Ferris Wheel is a colossal 120m Ferris wheel constructed on the Yongle Bridge across the Hai River in Tian Tan, China. It is the only Ferris wheel in the world built on a bridge. This Ferris wheel has 48 cabins to accommodate passengers, each cabin can hold 8 passengers, and it takes 30 minutes to complete one rotation.

7. Big O Ferris Wheel, Tokyo, Japan
The Big O Ferris Wheel stands approximately 115m tall, located within Tokyo Dome City, the shopping and entertainment complex in the capital city of Tokyo, Japan. The Ferris wheel is renowned for its unique structure with an empty center, lifted by an outer structure, notably the Thunder Dolphin high-speed roller coaster passing through the center of the Ferris wheel.

8. Sun Wheel Ferris Wheel, Danang, Vietnam
The Sun Wheel Ferris Wheel is part of the Asian Park architectural complex, combining modernity and cultural fusion between Vietnam and Asian countries, designed by architect Bill Bensley. With an impressive height of 115m and 64 cabins, reaching a speed of 16 minutes/1 rotation.

9. Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Japan
Located in the Tempozan Entertainment District, the Tempozan Ferris Wheel opened to the public on 12/07/1997. The wheels stand at a height of 112.5 meters, with a diameter of 100 meters. From the highest point of the Ferris wheel, you can see: Mount Ikoma to the East, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to the West, Kansai International Airport to the South, and Mount Rokko to the North.

Another interesting feature is the color of the lights on the wheels providing weather forecasts for the next day. Orange lights indicate a sunny day, green lights suggest a cloudy day, and blue lights signify rain.
10. Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris Wheel, Yokohama, Japan
The Cosmo Clock 21 stands tall as a colossal Ferris wheel in Cosmo World amusement park, located in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama, Japan. Originally dismantled in 1997 for relocation, it was reconstructed in 1999 with a height of 112.5 meters, making it the tallest Ferris wheel in the world upon its completion. With 60 cabins, each accommodating 8 passengers, a ride on it lasts approximately 15 minutes.
