IELTS Writing Task 1
| Task 1: The table below shows social and economic indicators for four countries in 1994, according to United Nations statistics. |

Example
The provided table illustrates four different indices used to gauge the social and economic development of four countries in 1994, based on data from the United Nations.
In general, there is a significant contrast in the statistics between developed and less developed nations. The former, represented by Canada and Japan, showed considerable positive social and economic indicators, whereas the latter, including Peru and Angola, faced challenges such as low income, inadequate daily nutrition, low literacy rates, and shorter lifespans.
Regarding annual per capita income, Canadians earned approximately $10,000, which was two-thirds of the income earned by Japanese citizens. Meanwhile, average earnings in Peru and Angola were significantly lower, about 1% of the income in Japan. Additionally, people in developed countries had an average life expectancy that was 28 years longer compared to about 50 years in developing regions.
Moreover, it is noteworthy that individuals in Japan consumed more than 3,000 and 1,500 calories per day, respectively, compared to individuals in Angola. Furthermore, only 68% and 34% of adults in Peru and Angola, respectively, received an education, while a vast majority of people in Canada and Japan were educated.
Analysis
In general, this article analyzes the table based on two factors:
- Chia ra phân tích từng category, của 4 quốc gia
- Chia 4 quốc gia ra thành 2 nhóm, developing và developed
The above division allows for more flexible comparison in terms of structure and vocabulary, and may overlook some less significant figures, such as in the comparison of calorie intake.
IELTS Writing Task 2
| Task 2: The most important function of music is that it helps people reduce stress. To what extent do you agree/ disagree? |
Example
People nowadays tend to easily get stressed because of an overwhelming amount of information on the internet. Therefore, music has become a powerful solution for people to relieve themselves from tough times. In this essay, I will objectively discuss this statement before drawing a rational conclusion.
Interestingly, music has been intertwined with human society since ancient times, playing roles in various social activities and sometimes reflecting and defining cultures. Music is specifically crafted to evoke human emotions and influence behavior. For instance, nightclubs often play upbeat music to keep people dancing and create an enjoyable atmosphere. Moreover, music has become more accessible than ever due to technological advancements, leading to the emergence of new contemporary musical genres that cater to modern listeners. Essentially, anyone with a quality smartphone and internet connection can access a vast world of music. Therefore, music is a valuable escape for those needing a break from busy lives.
On the contrary, music can sometimes convey false ideas and arbitrary notions that may negatively influence and spread throughout society. Consequently, those affected may develop a pessimistic outlook on life, leading to undesirable outcomes. Many songs in Japan focus on the despair of life, which can make listeners sad and potentially contribute to thoughts of suicide.
In conclusion, the importance of music in helping individuals during challenging times cannot be overstated. However, for emotionally vulnerable or inexperienced individuals, it can be a double-edged sword. Nevertheless, music remains the most practical and straightforward way for individuals to add vibrancy to their lives.
