Aegisub software facilitates the creation of subtitles for videos and films, widely adopted for its convenience and robustness. Utilizing Aegisub is straightforward with its array of tools to craft unique subtitles as desired. Using Aegisub on Your Computer

Step 1: Launch the Aegisub software after successfully installing it. On the toolbar, select Video =>Open Video to open the video you want to create subtitles for.
Step 2: Interface after opening the Video
- Area 1: This is the main menu bar supporting subtitle editing, adding effects, zooming in/out of the video,...
- Area 2: This is the toolbar for determining the position of subtitles in the video
- Area 3: Video playback area
- Area 4: Detailed audio playback area of the video

Step 3: If the video's audio file is separate, you'll need to add the audio by selecting Audio =>Open Audio File
You can select the Spectrum Analyzer Mode icon to switch the sound display bar for easier editing.
Step 4: Adjusting the display time for each subtitle line. It includes the start and end times. Pay attention to 2 items:
- Set start of selected subtitles to current video frame: Start time for the subtitle.
- Set end of selected subtitles to current video frame: End marker for the subtitle
In the audio section, you will see 2 columns, red and green, where the red column indicates the start point and the green column represents the end.
You can also adjust the time markers in the 2 time frames. The left box is the start time, the right box is the end time. Note: they are only editable when you have set the time for the subtitle.
Step 5: In the content entry section, you can input various letters, numbers, and characters to enrich and make the subtitle content more interesting. Once you've finished inputting the content, press Enter to create a new subtitle.
Step 6: To verify if the subtitle matches the inserted audio segment, click the Play current line button.
Step 7: If the subtitle is too long, you can break it into lines by adding the \N character to make it visually pleasing and prevent subtitle overlap.
Step 8: Subtitle customization.
Right-click on the subtitle line to see options such as: insert an additional box before/after the subtitle, duplicate the subtitle. To delete a subtitle, simply choose Delete Lines or select the content and press the shortcut Ctrl+Delete.
Step 9: Customize the subtitle position on the video, including features like:
- Basic adjustment, hover over any position on the video and double-click to place the subtitle
- Drag and drop the subtitle to the desired location
- Scroll the subtitle along the Z-axis
- Scroll the subtitle along the X, Y axes
- Adjust the subtitle scale along the X, Y axes
- Crop the subtitle into a rectangle
- Crop the subtitle into a specific area
Step 10: Once you've finished adding subtitles, you can choose to save by going to the File menu and selecting Save Subtitles as.
Next, enter the file name in the File name section, leave the Save as type unchanged as .ass, then click Save.
