IELTS Writing Task 1
| Task 1: The bar chart illustrates the percentage of businesses in the UK that had a social media presence from 2012 to 2016. |

Mẫu
The chart provides information about enterprises in Britain which were present on social networks between 2012 and 2016.
Overall, the figures for small and medium businesses, despite periodic fluctuations, grew considerably whereas those for large companies saw minor changes in most of the period. In addition, the highest percentage of enterprises with a social media presence belonged to large-scale ones.
In 2012, around 78% of large businesses used social media sites, and this percentage stayed somewhat plateaued until 2014. Conversely, a significant rise was seen in the figure for medium-sized companies during this time as it soared to almost 50% from a little over 30%. The proportion of small companies also increased, albeit less pronounced, from roughly 28% in 2012 to around 35% in 2014.
In the following years, all the figures witnessed a plunge before regaining their upward streak. Approximating 52% in 2015, the proportion of large businesses present on social media slightly exceeded their starting point one year later. Meanwhile, medium-sized and small companies’ figures hit a low of 30% but ultimately surged to about 52% and 49%, respectively.

IELTS Writing Task 2
| Task 2: It is commonly believed that nowadays the main factors that affect a child’s development are media, pop culture and friends. A different point of view is that family plays the most significant role. Discuss both views and give your opinion. |
Mẫu
Diverse viewpoints exist regarding the key factors influencing children’s development. While some argue that media, popular culture, and peers play pivotal roles, others contend that family exerts the most significant influence. This essay will explore both perspectives and advocate for the latter viewpoint.
On the one hand, children’s personalities and belief systems may be partially formed by influences outside the family. Social networks can contribute to setting trends in many aspects of life, including fashion, music and Internet language. These may affect how their users, among whom are of very young ages, dress, relax and communicate. Such platforms may also expose malleable children to all sorts of content, even crime and pornography, since not all online materials are censored and labelled with age ratings. Their early perceptions of moralities may therefore be partially shaped according to what they access on the Internet. In addition, as children spend much time with their friends at school, after-school clubs and extra classes, they tend to copy each other’s behaviour and may pressure their parents to provide them with the same things as their friends.
On the other hand, parental presence plays the most crucial role in a child’s development. Not only do parents care for their offspring from birth, but they also act as role models for their children, particularly during the formative years. Children often imitate their parents’ behavior and will likely develop the same habits and hobbies as they grow older. Furthermore, they are instilled with a sense of right and wrong by their parents, who also make decisions about their education, the environment where they grow up, as well as their daily activities. The influence of external factors on a child’s upbringing is mainly under the control of the parents..
To summarize, although media, popular culture, and peers can influence a child’s thoughts and behaviors, parents wield greater influence over their mindset and lifestyle choices.
